HIGHLANDVILLE, Mo--TV and radio talk show host Glenn Beck is not coming to the Ozarks next month.  His Covenant America conference has been moved to Kansas City from Christian County. The convention website said the primary reason for the move was to have the event inside instead of outdoors.  Beck was scheduled to appear at an 18-hundred acre ranch near Highlandville. The Covenant America website says refunds will not be given since buying a ticket is considered a donation.  However, the website says if you have an "undue hardship" the organization will review each request to consider if your money will be returned.

Rental sams are common today and are showing no signs of going away. The scam usually involves a con artist advertising a house as a rental when it is not. In fact, it's a house that is actually for sale. The con artist takes the picture from the website and puts it on his fraudulent website. He advertises on craigslist that the house is for rent, asking for first and last month's rent. A web address is given to view the house. The prospective tenant checks out the house online and sends the deposit.

LEBANON, Mo. - Some local teachers are finding creative ways to make extra cash. Stephanie McMahon and Melanie Mowery with Esther Elementary in Lebanon have signed on to Teachers Pay Teachers. It's a program that allows them to post, download, and sell their lesson plans to other teachers. Many of the lessons on the program's website meet education standards that allow them to be used at any public school in the country. "As I've been teaching through the whole year I've been taking the common core classes, tying them to what I'm doing in the classroom and them making stations that we can use in our classrooms but that other people can use as well," Mowery said.
