Enjoy the nice weather the next few days because much colder weather returns by the end of the week.  A strong cold front pushes into the Ozarks on Thursday along with a round of thunderstorms.  Cold temperatures will then build in behind the front.  Upper level energy will lag the system and keep clouds and a chance for very cold rain in the forecast for Friday.  Look for a huge drop in temperatures between Wednesday and Friday by almost...

TODAY 90s Scattered storms, some severe. Otherwise hot and very humid. TONIGHT 60s/70s Storms likely with locally heavy rain.  A few could produce large hail and high wind. WEDNESDAY 80s Early showers or storms, then partly cloudy. 12-hour forecast 24-hour forecast 7-Day Forecast Pollen Count Satellite & Radar Almanac   A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for a majority of the Ozarks until 10:00 P.M.   The steam heat is back today, with noon temperatures already in the lower 90s in some spots.  The humidity is notably higher too, pushing the heat index to 100 already.  Highs will be in the middle and even upper 90s this afternoon, creating a very unstable atmosphere by mid day.  A cold front has made it into central Missouri now, and will continue pushing south to near the Arkansas line by late evening.  Scattered storms will form near the front and on any outflow boundaries this afternoon.  Given the amount of instability available, severe storms are possible both this afternoon and at least early tonight.  Hail up to golf ball size and high wind gusts are possible, along with very heavy rain.  Some upper level energy is forecast to push closer tonight too, helping our rain chance.  There is still not a guarantee everyone will get...

TODAY 90s Hot and windy.  Gusts 30-35 mph. TONIGHT 70-75° Mostly clear. THURSDAY 80s to near 90° Mostly sunny.  Slightly cooler and less humid. 12-hour forecast 24-hour forecast 7-Day Forecast Pollen Count Satellite & Radar Almanac Good morning!  Today's weather will be similar to Tuesday, minus the cloud cover and plus a lot of wind.  Low pressure moving over Iowa into Illinois and Indiana will bring wind gusts of over 30 mph today.  While moisture in the lower atmosphere is fairly rich, the air above the surface is quite dry and warm.  This will mix down some today and drop our surface dew points, translating to a heat index just slightly above air temperatures in the 90s.  A cold front will move through beginning this evening through tonight.  However, I don't expect any rain due to the dry and warm atmosphere.  The front will bring a noticeable change in the air to central Missouri especially, though most of us will see at least some difference from today to Thursday.  The humidity will drop some (most around Rolla and Warsaw)
