SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The National Weather Service has issued a Thunderstorm Watch for the northern half of the Ozarks. The watch includes Barton, Bates, Benton (MO), Camden, Cedar, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Henry, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, Maries, Miller, Morgan, Newton, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, St. Clair, Vernon, and Webster Counties. The biggest threat includes high winds and hail.  This storm system begins an active weather pattern for the Ozarks over the next few days.

ASH GROVE, Mo. -- Patty Crouch and her chickens had their feathers ruffled by an unforgettable brush with nature. “It started out with a little bit of rain and then it got heavier," Crouch said about the thunderstorm on Wednesday that blew through her property. “I looked out my window, and it was like, 'Oh my God!' It is just all you can think of,” she said. The storms high winds took a toll on a massive weeping willow tree in her front yard.  The tree -- roots, branches, and all -- came crashing down.  Her front porch was destroyed by the weight of the falling tree.  Two swingsets were also mangled and tossed across the yard.
