It was a great day to be on the lake fishing.  CAST For Kids hosted its annual event at Table Rock this morning.  CAST stands for Catch a Special Thrill.  The organization takes special needs kids and young adults out on an excursion to enjoy nature. Every angler gets a free rod and reel, and tackle box full of lures - but they also leave Table Rock Lake with something else. "Feel like they can do something by themselves and they like it" Jay Kelvaugh, the father of a boy with joint and muscular condition said.  It's the fourth year CAST For Kids has welcomed Camp Barnabas, the Developmental Center of the Ozarks and Chances of Stone County onto the lake.

BRANSON, Mo. -- One lane of Missouri 165/265 between Table Rock Lake's dam and spillway will be closed from 8 a.m. April 2 through 6 p.m. April 9 while core borings are drilled along the dam's embankment.  If you are traveling in this area, you likely will be delayed. Officials at the Army Corps of Engineers Table Rock Project Office said they regret any inconvenience this may cause, and they ask for public cooperation until the maintenance is complete.  The officials ask travelers to plan alternate routes and allow extra time to reach their destinations.  The core borings are routine work that the Corps does every couple of years to check the integrity of the dam.
