SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - For the second day in a row, a home in the Ozarks has been destroyed by fire. A mobile home in the 5100 block of West Sunshine went up in flames at roughly 1 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters responded to fight the blaze, which they say could be seen from at least one mile away. A father and son lived at the home, but only one of them was home at the time and made it out safely. Firefighters are investigating what caused the fire, and preliminary word is that an unattended cigarette may be to blame.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - At the newest location of Mama Jean's Natural Market, the shelves are stocked and the customers are beginning stroll in. “After recovering a little bit from exhaustion (we have been open about six days), we are pleased with the turnout so far, stated co-owner Susie Farbin. The new Mama Jeans, on East Sunshine Street, is the third for this locally-owned company on the grow. The new venture is located int he former Furniture Brokers store. “My favorite part would have to be meeting all of our customers. I get choked up when I think about it,' explained co-owner Diana Hicks.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A simple two-car crash injured one driver on Sunshine Street near Fort Avenue on Wednesday morning. An ambulance took one driver to the hospital, where she was quickly treated and released. One lane of Sunshine in each direction was blocked for awhile. Police say one driver received a citation.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Springfield police are directing traffic through the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Sunshine Street after a dump truck with its load up hit a traffic light assembly and brought it down late Thursday morning. No one was injured in the crash. A portion of the light assembly a box truck, but the incident caused traffic to be backed up for blocks during the noon hour. Police were still directing traffic at 1:50 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - A Springfield woman made a $379,999 profit from a $1 ticket after winning a Missouri Lottery prize. Stephanie Sprague, 30, scratched the top prize of $380,000 on a "$500 A Week for Life" ticket. She bought it at a Kum & Go station at 2650 W. Sunshine St. in Springfield. Sprague chose a lump sum option of $380,000 over the choice of annual installments of $26,000 for the rest of her life.
