SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Former KY3 video journalist Ed Fillmer is collaborating with Drury and KY3 to bring an added dimension to video storytelling in the Ozarks. He will be Drury's Ozarks Correspondent, again producing video stories about people in the Ozarks. Fillmer became well known for his stories on KY3 News in the 1980s and '90s. His special reports, called “KY3's Ozark Life” focused on people, culture and issues in the area. He covered people who aren't usually found in the headlines, roaming not only the small towns and back roads of the Ozarks, but the nation and the world to report on people who call the Ozarks home.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for much of southwest and central Missouri. The counties include, Barry, Barton, Bates, Benton, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Henry, Hickory, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, Maries, McDonald, Miller, Morgan, Newton (MO), Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, St. Clair, Stone, Vernon, Webster and Wright. SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Leaders of the Ozark Empire Fair announced one of the concerts for this year's fair and also said it will start on Thursday this year instead of the traditional last Friday of July. The theme for the 2013 is “Sweet Summertime.” The concert that was announced at the news conference is Collective Soul , a band from Atlanta. SPRINGFIELD -- A lot families in Missouri who struggle to put food on their tables will be getting a little help thanks to your generous donations. Thousands of people in the Ozarks stepped up to help feed those in need through a food drive by the Salvation Army and the Post Office. They collected about 22,000 pounds of food for the program. Volunteers were busy on Sunday sorting and packing it to delivery to families. More volunteers are needed at the Salvation Army Headquarters on 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway beginning at 10 Monday morning.

MARSHFIELD, Mo. -- The shocking numbers released this week of sexual assaults in U.S. military services come as no surprise to one woman here. She is one of the thousands of sexual assult victims. It happened to Carrie Watkins 30 years ago, but she lives with the emotional scars every day. She hopes bringing attention to the persistent problem of military sexual assaults will help. It was her dream, a tradition in her family, and Watkins has many honors and awards to show for her years in the Air Force.

LEBANON, Mo. -- Ozarks Technical Community College - Lebanon got a big boost on Thursday -- a $500,000 boost. Fifty acres of land next to the existing OTC Lebanon Center were donated by the owner, Reuben Casey. Reuben and his late wife, Mary Lou, originally donated the land and buildings that OTC Lebanon calls home a few years back. There are big plans for the new land. In addition to the two buildings already in place, OTC hopes to add buildings for the college's health programs and general education programs.

ADVANCE, Ark. -- Searchers found an 18-year-old man who was missing in the Ozark National Forest in southern Baxter County. A crew from the U.S. Forestry Service found Jay Greer Jr. of Little Rock about 7 p.m. Friday. He was in a heavily wooded and rugged area about 2.5 miles from where his abandoned vehicle was found on Friday morning on Brush Creek Road near the rural community of Advance. It took eight hours to get him out of the woods....

Gayla Crisp found a photo of her grandmother that she believes was taken the last time it snowed in the Ozarks in May. The photo shows Rosa May Florence Woods in the Dry Valley community, a rural area in Lawrence County northwest of Pierce City. Crisp remembers her parents talking about the snowstorm in May when they were teenagers. The National Weather Service in Springfield says the last time there was measurable snow in the Ozarks this late in the spring was on May 2, 1929.
