Grease a 9-inch pie pan and preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2 cups of milk ½ cup of baking mix (Bisquick is one brand) ¼ cup of butter, melted ¾ cup of sugar 4 eggs 1 ½ teaspoon of vanilla 1 cup of flaked or shredded coconut (added at the end) Combine all ingredients except coconut in blender container, cover, blend on low speed for 3 minutes. Pour into prepared pie plate. Let stand about 5 minutes, then sprinkle with the 1 cup of coconut. Bake 40 minutes. You may serve this warm or chilled. The addition of the baking mix makes it firm enough to slice while warm.

GARFIELD, N.J.-- In an effort to get Hasbro -- the maker of the Easy-Bake Oven -- to create an oven for boys as well as girls, 13-year-old Mckenna Pope cooked up a campaign and posted a video on change.org . Mckenna took up the cause for her 4-year old brother, Gavin, who loves to cook, after the family tried to get an easy bake oven for him, but were unable to find one that wasn't being marketed exclusively to girls. “I found it pretty appalling that they did not feature males of any sort in any of their packaging and promotional materials or anything,” Mckenna told NBC 4 New York.

Pavolva is a recipe created in New Zealand to honor a world-famous Russian ballerina, who visited there in the 1920s; it's “light and airy on the inside, crusty on the outside!” Pavlova can be made in advance and cooled and stored in an airtight container for up to two days. If not stored airtight, it will shrink and get weepy and soggy. 4 egg whites (frozen egg whites work superbly, just bring to room temperature) 1 pinch of salt (less than ¼ teaspoon)
