MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. - Arkansas State Police say a woman who crashed a van down an embankment early Friday morning may have been drinking -- and that she wasn't located for hours. Authorities say Anna M. Hale was driving south on Arkansas State Route 5 near the Guy King clay pit when she failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and drove down an embankment. She hit several trees on the way, hitting her front bumper. State troopers say Hale told them she had crashed sometime after midnight and was not found until 7:05 a.m. Troopers are also recommending charges of careless driving, driving while intoxicated, not wearing a seatbelt and not carrying proof of insurance.
