COLUMBIA, Mo. - Even with a bum knee, Henry Josey is working harder than he ever has. The sophomore running-back is recovering this off-season after tearing his ACL at the end of last season. The injury ended a breakout year for the Angleton, Texas native. Now, he's working to return to the field. "He's doing tremendous on his rehab," said Missouri Tigers offensive coordinator David Yost. "He is working as hard in there as our guys working in the weight room to get himself back.

In his first press conference since his name surfaced as a possible replacement for Mike Anderson at Mizzou, Missouri St. head coach Cuonzo Martin made it clear that no one from the University of Missouri has approached him about the job. As of 5 p.m. Friday at the time of his press conference, Martin said, "I'm employed by Missouri State. I enjoy being here. There are no back-door deals going on. I think it would be a disservice to everyone involved if I start talking about speculation. Missouri has not contacted me whatsoever. No search firm has contacted me. Bottom line.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou will head south into Southeastern Conference territory to play its final bowl game as a member of the Big 12 Conference. The Missouri Tigers (7-5, 5-4) will play the North Carolina Tar Heels (7-5, 3-5) out of the Atlantic Coast Conference in the 36th annual Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisianna. This is the third time (2003, 2005) Mizzou has played in Shreveport, the school's seventh straight bowl. "We are thankful to a lot of people to be in this position, we talked about eight bowls in nine years and seven in a row, it would not be wise to take going to bowl games for granted," said Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel. "This was a very difficult season and my players fought and battled to put us in this position.
