LOUSVILLE, Ky. - Former Missouri Tigers quarterback Tyler Gabbert is heading east to play in the Big East. Gabbert will transfer to Louisville University. He must sit out next season, then having three years to play three seasons. "(I'm) excited to have Tyler Gabbert join our football program," said Louisville Head Coach Charlie Strong. Gabbert red-shirted last season, sitting the bench behind big brother Blaine. Blaine left school early for the NFL Draft. Tyler Gabbert competed for the starting job in Spring drills against sophomore signal-caller James Franklin. Then, Mizzou Head Coach Gary Pinkel decided to wait till preseason drills to declare an opening game starter.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Frank Haith-era at Mizzou will begin without a key inside presence. Missouri Tigers senior forward Laurence Bowers tore the ACL in his knee Monday. He will have surgery, ending his upcoming season. Bowers started 27 games as a junior. He averaged 11.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. ORLANDO, Fla. - Call Mizzou "Tight End U. " Missouri Tigers junior tight end Micahel Egnew has been named first team Walter Camp Football Foundation all-America. Egnew is the third Missouri tight end in the last four years to earn first team all-America status joining Martin Rucker (2007) and Chase Coffman (2008). Egnew's 83 receptions leads the country at the position. He racked up 698 yards and four touchdowns this season. Egnew recorded double-digit receptions against San Diego State (13)

DALLAS, Texas - The Big 12 Conference has landed its own big television deal. The conference is teaming up with Fox Sports for a 13 year agreement for cable television rights to 40 football games a season. Fox Sports will also broadcast other sports. COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri is moving up in the polls. Mizzou (7-0) jumped three spots to No. 10 in this week's Associated Press poll. The Tigers scored a victory Friday night against Northwestern State. The poll features four Big 12 Conference schools. Kentucky remains No. 1. Missouri will go on the road Tuesday to play Villanova in the Jimmy V Classic in New York City. Tip-off is at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN. COLUMBIA, Mo. - College football now knows Mizzou's Michael Egnew. The 2010 consensus all-America tight end headlines the Mackey Award watch list for the country's best at the position for 2011. Egnew led the Tigers in catches with 90 and collected 762 yards and five touchdowns in his junior season. The Plainview, Texas native was a finalist for the Mackey Award last season. EUGENE, Ore. -Missouri learned from its late-game mistakes against Georgetown. Marcus Denmon scored 19 points to lead the Mizzou to an 83-80 victory against the Oregon Ducks. The Tigers (6-1) blew a 20-point halftime lead. Ricardo Ratliffe and Michael Dixon added eleven points each. E.J. Singler scored a career-high 19 points for the Ducks (4-3). COLUMBIA, Mo. - The injury bug has bitten Mizzou again. Starting tailback Kendial Lawrence suffered a broken bone in his leg. The injury will sideline the junior for at least a month. The Rockwall, Texas native rushed for 10-yards on nine carries in Saturday's win against Miami (Ohio). De'vion Moore and Henry Josey will likely get the majority of carries Friday night on the road at Arizona State. Kickoff is at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN. COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou's basketball roster for the 2010-2011 season will look different than Tigers fans expected. Sophomore guard Miguel Paul and freshman forward Tyler Stone will transfer from the program, just days before the spring signing period. Paul averaged 3.2 points and 1.6 assists in 69 games in his two-year career. Stone played in 11 games, averaging 2 points and 0.8 rebounds.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- It is "Braggin' Rights" for another year for Mizzou. Marcus Denmon scored 15 points to lead a balanced Missouri Tigers attack to a comeback victory against the Illinois Fighting Illini 75-64. The win is the ninth-ranked Tigers (11-1) second straight in the series. Mike Davis led Illinois (10-3) with 17 points. Missouri's comeback was sealed in the last minute after Laurence Bowers scored four points on one play. The junior forward made a break-away layup, then added two free throws after Illinois' Mike Tisdale committed an intentional foul.
