COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri Tigers head coach Mike Anderson won't disclose what he did.  But says he has suspended Missouri Tigers point guard Michael Dixon indefinitely for violating a team rule. Dixon is averaging 10.7 points per game, dishing out four assists.  The Lee's Summit native is one of two Tigers to start every game this season.  The sophomore scored a career-high 17 points in a loss against Georgetown in Kansas City. Mizzou plays Oral Robers Thursday night in Columbia.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Two Missouri Tigers juniors have declared for the NBA draft.  However, both Kim English and Laurence Bowers have not hired an agent.  The announcements shortly followed news that Mizzou hired Frank Haith as the school's next head basketball coach.  English and Bowers say the hiring of Haith had nothing to do with their decisions. SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Mizzou's new head basketball coach is coming to Springfield. The Missouri Tigers Caravan will stop Tuesday April 26th at the Doubletree Hotel on Glenstone with a new face.  The "Tiger Talk" dinner and reception will feature new basketball coach Frank Haith, women's basketball coach Robin Pingeton, and athletics director Mike Alden. The University of Missouri Tigers basketball team will not only look good, but feel good this season.  The Tigers tried on their new Nike Dri-Fit jerseys this week. The team got a first look yesterday for pictures.  Junior shooting guard Kim English posted picks of the new digs with a tweet, "see you in November. " Mizzou opens the season with back-to-back home games against Western Illinois on November 18th and North Florida on November 20th. COLUMBIA, Mo. -- University of Missouri Tigers quarterback Corbin Berkstresser is in trouble with the law.  Columbia police arrested Berkstresser early Tuesday for leaving the scene of an accident.  The police report says the redshirt freshman quarterback hit a parked car, then left the scene.  Berkstresser posted a $4,500 bond. The Lee's Summit native took most of the snaps with the first team in spring drills after starting quarterback James Franklin injured his shoulder.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Go West Missouri Tigers.  But not at first. The Missouri Tigers have earned a third-straight NCAA Tournament bid under Head Coach Mike Anderson.  Mizzou is in the West regional.  The No. 11 seeded Tigers will play the No. 6 seeded Cincinnati Bearcats out of the Big East Conference.  The Bearcats finished the regular-season 25-8, 11-7 in conference play. The matchup will not be played out West, instead East in Washington, DC Thursday.  The winner will play the winner of UCONN versus Bucknell.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Frank Haith adds some familiar faces to the his bench. The new Missouri Tigers head bsaketball coach has hired Ernie Nestor and Tim Fuller to his first staff at Mizzou. Nestor is a 40-year coaching veteran.  He spent five years as head coach at George Mason and Elon.  Nestor also worked as an assistant at Wake Forest, California and South Carolina. Fuller had been on Rick Pitino's staff at Louisville.  He also was an assistant at Miami under Haith and played at Wake Forest when Haith was an assistant.  Fuller also worked under Nestor at Elon.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The price tag to purchase the contract of new Missouri Tigers Head Coach Frank Haith has gone up. Mizzou learned a valuable lesson from Mike Anderson's departure.  Haith's buyout begins at $1.2 million after the first year.  It then drops $500,000 each season through his first four.  Haith will earn $1.5 million dollars annually.  His incentives package adds up to another $825,000. Haith spent seven seasons at the University of Miami with an overall record of 129-101.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Missouri will begin Big 12 play without a reserve forward.  Kadeem Green says he will transfer closer to home in Toronto, Canada, after two seasons with the Missouri Tigers program.  Green averaged three points per game in 11 games this season.  The 6-foot-8 redshirt freshman sat out last season, recovering from a torn Achilles tendon sustained in high school. Green's departure leaves Mizzou with only seven scholarship players. Mizzou opens the Big 12 season on Tuesday night at home against Oklahoma.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Bigger is better. The University of Missouri's move to the Southeastern Conference next year has sped up discussions to expand Memorial Stadium.  Plans include adding premium outdoor club seats on the east side and adding luxury suites on the west side. NEW YORK -- Missouri Tigers linebacker Zaviar Gooden will stay in Southeastern Conference country. The Tennessee Titans chose the outside linebacker with the final pick (97th) of the third-round in the NFL Draft.  Gooden shined at the combine, running a 4.47 in the 40-yard draft.  That was the fastest time of any linebacker.  The Texas native was a three-year starter at Mizzou.  He joins defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson as the Tigers drafted in the first three rounds.

NEW YORK -- Mizzou's Sheldon Richardson heard his name called early in the 2013 NFL Draft. The New York Jets selected the big 6' 2", 290 pound defensive lineman No. 13.  Richardson shined in his debut season in the Southeastern Conference.  He earned second-team all-SEC honors last season.  He recorded 75 tackles, including 10.5 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks.  The St. Louis native signed with Missouri twice.  He attended a junior...

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The Missouri kid would not let Arkansas lose. BJ Young scored Arkansas' final seven points in the last :29 seconds to lead the Razorbacks (16-9, 7-5) to a 73-71 comeback victory over the Missouri Tigers (18-7, 7-5).  Players for both schools shook their heads after the wild ending. "For a minute it looked bleak," said Young.  "We kept fighting.  It was one of the craziest games I've played. " Missouri led 70-66 with :34 seconds left, following two free throws by senior Keion Bell.  Then, Young took over the game.  The sophomore from St. Louis scored seven straight points, including two three-point plays on back-to-back possessions for the Razorbacks.  He added a free throw for the final difference.  Young finished the game with 18 points.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Freshmen Stefan Jankovic and Negus Webster-Chan combined for 34 points and 12 rebounds as the former high school teammates led Missouri Basketball to an 86-60 victory over Missouri Southern to close out exhibition play on Sunday. Jankovic came off the bench and flourished on the perimeter, hitting 8-of-13 shots, including three from outside the three-point stripe to pace the Tigers with 20 points. His former high school point guard, Webster-Chan, earned his first start as a Tiger and scored 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go with seven rebounds and three assists.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The new look Missouri Tigers had a dominate showing to open their 2012-2013 schedule thanks to a 91-58 win over Northwest Missouri State. The Tigers were led by Auburn transfer Earnest Ross who netted 22-points against the Division II school from Maryville. SEC preseason player of the year, Phil Pressey, impressed with 11 assists on the night; often tallying them with flare. The Tigers opened the game with a 27-3 lead and shot 62-percent from the floor.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Mizzou celebrated homecoming with its first Southeastern Conference win. Kendial Lawrence rushed scored two touchdowns and rushed for 108 yards to lead the Missouri Tigers (4-4, 1-4) to a 33-10 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats (1-8, 0-6) Saturday in Columbia. Mizzou scored touchdowns following three Kentucky fumbles. Missouri's Corbin Berkstresser struggled in his second-straight start of the season.  The redshirt-freshman finished 10-of-18 for 71 yards and two interceptions.  Injured starting quarterback James Franklin came off the bench, finishing 6-of-9 for 16 yards.  Franklin missed the start against Vanderbilt two weeks ago. Missouri's defense played big throughout the game.  The biggest play happened on the first drive of the game.  In the red-zone, defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson stripped Johathan George, then scooped up the ball.  He returned the fumble for 60 yards.   Mizzou added a Lawrence rushing touchdown and a field goal to go up 17-10 at halftime.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri has a graduation success rate (GSR) of 84% for all sports, as announced today by the NCAA, up from 81% a year ago.  That rate ranks Mizzou third in the Southeastern Conference, behind only Vanderbilt (1 st - 91%) and Alabama (2 nd - 85%).  Missouri led the SEC in five different sports, including men's golf (100%), women's golf (100%), women's swimming & diving (100%), tennis (100%), and wrestling (67%).  Mizzou's football team had a 73% rate, while the men's basketball team came in at 67%, both of which ranked as fifth-best in the SEC.  This is the sixth consecutive year that MU's overall GSR rate has increased, and it also marks the third straight year in which Mizzou had at least four programs with a perfect GSR. “We are very pleased with our numbers in the latest report,” said Associate Athletic Director for Academic Services Dr. Joe Scogin.  “We take great pride in the academic experience we provide to our student-athletes at Mizzou.  They are expected to perform at a very high level in the classroom, just as they are in their sport, and the numbers show that they are doing exactly that,” he said.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - New conference, same expectations. The media covering the Southeastern Conference chose the Missouri Tigers to finish third in its preseason college basketball poll.  The Tigers follow Kentucky and Florida.   Missouri received one first-place vote. The media also chose Mizzou junior guard Phil Pressey as its preseason Player of the Year.   Guard Michael Dixon earned second-team honors.  Missouri opens the season against Northwest Missouri State October 29. COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Mizzou has yet to finish its first season as a member of the Southeastern Conference , but it already knows next season's football schedule. The Missouri Tigers will play host to SEC powers Florida , South Carolina , Tennessee, and former Big 12 rival Texas A&M.  Mizzou will travel to Vanderbilt , Georgia , Kentucky , and Ole Miss .   The schedule will include two Saturdays on which the Tigers don't play. The schedule does not include border rival Arkansas .  The two schools discussed the possibility of becoming permanent rivals.  In a news release, the university said, "The 2013 schedule is considered a 'bridge' schedule and not based on any other previous or future scheduling formats.  The SEC Athletics Directors will convene in Spring 2013 to begin formulating schedules for the 2014 season and beyond.
