DEEPWATER, Mo. -- A teenager from Osceola died in a crash in southern Henry County.  Troopers say 17-year-old Royanna Leiber ran off Highway Z just east of Missouri 13 about 12:30 a.m. Saturday and overturned.  The Missouri Highway Patrol says Leiber was not wearing a seat belt.

A man from Joplin is dead after a crash in Jasper County.  The Missouri Highway Patrol says Travis Weber lost control of his SUV on Highway 59 near Diamond Wednesday morning. The vehicle flipped and weber was thrown from the cab.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Troopers say Weber wasn't wearing his seatbelt.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--The Missouri Highway Patrol says it was a driver from Bolivar killed in a crash late Sunday night  on I-44 around the 76 mile marker in West Springfield. Troopers say Marjorie Knickerbocker, 73, was using a crossover path in the median to try to turn around, and pulled into the path of a westbound tractor trailer. Knickerbocker was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was from Alton, Missouri. He was not injured.

NEAR PHILLIPSBURG, Mo. -- The Missouri Highway Patrol rerouted traffic on I-44 between Marshfield and Lebanon much of Thursday evening after a semi caught fire. The fire closed the westbound lanes for several hours near Phillipsburg.   Troopers rerouted traffic onto outer roads.  The interstate reopened shortly after 10:00 p.m.  The driver of the semi was not hurt. Viewers submitted pictures of the crash while stuck in traffic.

TABLE ROCK LAKE, Mo  -  Saturday's U.S. Open Bowfishing National Championship Tournament brought hundreds of anglers to the Branson area this past weekend, but some neighbors are saying the boats used in the tournament were too loud. Some of the anglers drove fan boats which are illegal in Missouri because they violate noise pollution laws. The Missouri Highway Patrol's Water Division granted a one day exemption for the tournament which also extends to 24 hours before the tournament.

SALEM, Mo -- Allegations of rampant drug use and distribution are shining a spotlight on a Shannon County farm. Officials with the DEA, Missouri Highway Patrol and US Attorney's Office filed a lawsuit last week to seize a 350-acre farm, known as Camp Zoe. Authorities say a four-year investigation revealed open distribution of illegal drugs including cocaine, LSD, and marijuana during events hosted at the farm. No charges have been filed. Meanwhile, the property owner posted a response on the farm's website: "All of us at Camp Zoe are doing everything we can to prevent the land seizure and to get the money back they took from the business.

MONETT, Mo. -- A one-year-old girl is dead after she was hit by a car near Monett on Saturday evening. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Sierra Graessle was walking in the westbound lane of highway 60 about one mile west of Monett shortly after 8:00pm. Troopers say the driver did not see the girl in the roadway and was unable to swearve fast enough to avoid hitting her. Graessle was pronounced dead at the scene. The highway patrol has not yet said why the girl may have been in the road, but say the investigation is on-going.

Warsaw, Mo. --  Benton County Sheriff's Deputy, Michael Cash, 47, was charged Friday with two counts of statutory sodomy and one count of child molestation.  The Missouri Highway Patrol assisted in the investigation over the past several weeks and says there may be more victims in the case.   Cash was the DARE officer for Benton County and is currently being held on $100,000 bond in Saline County.  Court documents show the victim in the case was...

SALEM, Mo. -- For the second time in just three days, two teens from the same family were killed in a wreck in the Ozarks.  The Missouri Highway Patrol says Mackenzie Miller, 17, and her brother, Adam Miller, 14, died in a three-car accident on Missouri 32 three miles east of Salem on Monday afternoon. The patrol says the car driven by Mackenzie Miller struck the rear of a vehicle, crossed the center line, and then was hit by an oncoming car.  Three people in the oncoming car were injured, including a 14-year-old girl who suffered serious injuries.

MT. VERNON, Mo.-- Law enforcement will be meeting with cattle farmers on February 7th to discuss a recent rash of cattle thefts in the Lawrence County area. Several farms have been targeted in recent weeks. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 7th at the University of Missouri Research Center located on Highway H just south of Mt. Vernon. The meeting begins at 7:00 pm. Representatives from the county sheriffs' offices will be on hand, as well as members of the Missouri Highway Patrol and prosecutors from Lawrence and Dade County.

TANEY COUNTY, Mo. - A man who led officers from several law enforcement agencies on a chase south of Springfield Tuesday night has not been captured. The chase began at roughly 9 p.m. in Ozark County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the chase headed west into Taney County, then south on U.S. Highway 65 toward the Arkansas state line. Missouri officers called for help, but no authorities were available to continue the chase in Arkansas. Once the driver entered Arkansas, Missouri agencies stopped the chase.

URBANA, Mo. -- A man from Muskogee, Okla., died after a crash of his tractor-trailer truck.  The wreck was early Friday morning on U.S. 65. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Grandell Tollison, 58, ran off the highway, struck a culvert and overturned.  The Highway Patrol said Tollison was partially ejected from the passenger side window. Authorities closed a portion of the highway for most of the morning while troopers investigated.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Missouri House Budget Committee is demanding answers from the Highway Patrol superintendent over the agency's purchase of a new $5.6 million airplane.   Lawmakers are questioning the need for the plane and whether its purchase was politically motivated.   Col. Ronald Replogle testified at a hearing Wednesday that the plane was purchased to help the patrol in its homicide and drug investigations. He said other state officials, including Gov. Jay Nixon, use the patrol's current passenger plane 70% of the time.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a reported threat to kill Gov. Jay Nixon. SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Despite more traffic packing onto city streets and highways, fewer drivers are crashing their cars. For the first nine months of this year, the number of vehicle crashes in the city is down 3%.  However, the city also reports some of the wrecks that have happened have been worse. From January through September of this year, 20 people were killed in wrecks, compared to 7 the same time last year.  The number for the remainder of this eyar wont be tallies until the begining of 2013.

FAIR GROVE, Mo.-- The Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash one mile south of Fair Grove. It happened along U.S. 65, near Shelby Road around 2:00a.m. Saturday morning. According to the crash report, the crash occurred as Krystal Cook, 22, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 65.  Her Chevy Silverado veered off the west edge of the northbound lanes into the median. Cook over-corrected, returned to the northbound lanes of the roadway and struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on.  Darrel Wilson, 23, was driving that Jeep, and was killed.

NEAR PURDY, Mo. - A 13-year-old boy has died of injuries suffered when an all-terrain vehicle he was riding flipped and landed on top of him in Barry County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Jet Lee of Fairview died at Springfield's Mercy Hospital on Thanksgiving evening at 7:30, three hours after the 2006 Honda Rancher he was riding on rolled down a hill and landed on top of him on private property three miles north of Purdy. The Highway Patrol reports this as their 87th reported fatality in 2012.
