COLUMBIA, Mo. - ESPN's Doug Gottlieb stirred up not one, but two universities with one name dropping: Mike Anderson. Now, Anderson's answering the talk. Hoops analyst Gottlieb mentioned he had heard Arkansas Razorbacks Head Coach John Pelphrey was on the hot seat, while he was a guest on WHB-AM 810 radio in Kansas City. He then linked Missouri Head Coach Mike Anderson's name to the potential coaching vacancy. Mizzou fans are familiar to the outside attention about Anderson. He was the "it" name after last season for the University of Oregon's coaching vacancy. The University of Georgia sought Anderson in 2009. Anderson's name will always be tied to Arkansas. He was an assistant for 17 years under mentor Nolan Richardson, winning a national championship in 1994. Anderson first declined to address the speculation, as did Pelphrey. Twenty-four hours later, Anderson changed his mind, talking to the Columbia Tribune's Steve Walentik.
