FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The "Senior Night" festivities will not take long this year. Fans will say goodbye to seniors Marvelle Waith and Michael Sanchez Tuesday night when the Arkansas Razorbacks host the Ole Miss Rebels.  The Hogs have lost back-to-back games at Bud Walton Arena, after winning the first 17 games. Tip-off is at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN-U. News and Notes: Finally: The win at Auburn was Arkansas' first road victory of the season.  The Razorbacks were the last Division One school above .500 to win on the road.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - BJ Young decides against his one-and-done option. The Arkansas Razorbacks freshman guard from St. Louis has decided to remove his name from the list of NBA Draft eligible college basketball players.  Young had until Tuesday April 10 to make his decision. "I had (the decision) this morning," said Young.  "It was a difficult decision, it wasn't the easiest I ever made, but I enjoy school a lot and I am not ready to go yet. " Young earned the team's Offensive Player of the Year Award, after leading the Hogs in scoring in the 2011-2012 season.  He averaged 15.3 points per game, shooting better than 50-percent from the field.  He earned a spot on the Southeastern Conference's all-freshman team.  Young declared for the NBA Draft last month, allowing him nearly two weeks to weigh his options.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas has added another marquee opponent to the basketball schedule for 2011-2012. The Razorbacks will play the University of Michigan Wolverines Saturday, January 21 at Bud Walton Arena.  Arkansas will return the favor playing in Ann Arbor the following season. "This is a great matchup between two storied programs," Arkansas Head Coach Mike Anderson said.  "Coach John Beilein has done a very good job of elevating the Michigan program back to its championship status and this wil be a great game to have at Bud Walton.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Archie Goodwin has been on the radar of the top college basketball coaches in the country for several years. Now, he's no longer on the market.  Goodwin announced on Twitter he has committed to the University of Kentucky.  The Sylvan Hills High School (Little Rock) guard chose the Cats over the Arkansas Razorbacks. "If you don't know by now I'm a Wildcat," said Goodwin on his Twitter account.  Goodwin averaged 29 points and eight rebounds during his junior season.  Goodwin has been new Arkansas Razorbacks Head Coach Mike Anderson's top target in the Class of 2012.  "I'll always rep. Ark.," said Goodwin.  "I got it tatted on my chest.  I had to do what I had to do.  Point blank period.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Freshman BJ Young wants to know if he's NBA ready. The Arkansa Razorbacks guard has submitted his name for consideration for the 2012 NBA Draft.  However, he has not signed with an agent. "I love being a Razorback and I see this as an opportunity to receive valuable feedback from the NBA advisory committee on my draft potential," said Young.  "Once I am able to look over all the facts, I will have a discussion with my family and coaches and decide what is best.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Matt Painter is a wanted man. The Purdue University head basketball coach is expected to meet with the University of Missouri Tuesday regarding Mizzou's coaching vacancy.  However, Purdue officials say they are committed to keeping the coach. Painter is a Purdue alum, playing and coaching under Boilermakers legend Gene Keady.  The 40-year-old has been selected Big Ten's Coach of the Year three times.  He has led the Boilermakers to two Sweet 16 appearances.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Louisiana's Mr. Basketball will play his college basketball in neighboring Arkansas. DeQuavious Wagner signed his letter of intent to play basketball next season at the University of Arkansas.  Wagner is the fourth signee in the 2011-2012 Class. "I am excited to have DeQuavious become a part of our program," said Arkansas Head Coach Mike Anderson.  "He has quickness, toughness, vision and a high basketball IQ, all qualities that will add to our team.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Will the Frank Haith-era at Missouri end before he coaches his first game? University of Missouri curators met Friday in Kansas City days after the new head basketball coach said he would cooperate with the NCAA's pay-for-play investigation at the University of Miami.  Imprisoned booster Nevin Shapiro claims Haith knew about a $10,000 payment to a Hurricanes recruit.  Haith denies that happened. "The reports questioning my personal interactions with Mr. Shapiro are not an accurate portrayal of my character," Haith said on Tuesday night in response to the story broke by Yahoo!

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Frank Haith has an idea of what the Missouri Tigers basketball team will look like in the near future. Rivals.com is reporting Haith picked up two commitments for the 2013 class while on the recruiting trail this past weekend.  Both recruits are heralded sophomores. Ismail Wainright is the local kid.  The 6-foot-5, 220-pound forward from Raytown South High School has scholarship offers already from Arkansas, Baylor and Texas.  ESPN.com and recruiting service Northstar Basketball rank Wainright among the top 50 sophomore prospects.  Former Missouri Head Coach Mike Anderson recruited Wainright heavily before his exit to Arkansas.

ROME, Italy - Sophomore BJ Young scored 22 points and junior Coty Clarke netted 17 with eight rebounds to lead the University of Arkansas men's basketball team to 93-73 victory over All-Star Italy in the Razorbacks final game of their Italian tour, Friday night in Rome. The Arkansas win allows the Razorbacks to go undefeated in their four-game schedule overseas with an average margin of victory of 22.3 points. “Overall it was good tour,” Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson said.  “We came in tonight without touching a ball or practicing for two days and played well.  We had a chance to bond as a team and play a lot of different combinations.  Most importantly, no one got hurt.” While Young and Clarke led the way offensively, it was the Arkansas defense that dominated the second quarter of action.  A three-point Arkansas lead at the end of the first 10 minutes of play ballooned to 15 by the half as the Razorbacks held All Star Italy to just six points over the second 10 minutes of action.  Arkansas forced 31 All-Star Italy turnovers in the game while also outrebounding its foe by eight.
