COLUMBIA, Mo. - Kim English's NBA career begins in Detroit. The Pistons drafted the University of Missouri forward with the 44th selection in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft Thursday. "MO Town!!," tweeted English shortly after the draft. "Blessed to be a Detroit Piston. Ready to get to work. " The Baltimore, Maryland native averaged 14.5 points per game in his senior campaign, helping lead Mizzou to the Big 12 Conference Tournament championship. English shot better than 38-percent from three-point-range last season too. He was a third-team all-Big 12 selection.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou senior guards Michael Dixon and Marcus Denmon have earned all-Big 12 Conference recognition from the league's coaches. Denmon earned first-team all-conference honors. He is the first Tiger since Kareem Rush to earn back-to-back first-team nods. Denmon led the Tigers with 18 points per game. Denmon is the only repeat performer on the first-team. The coaches named Dixon the Sixth Man of the Year Award. The Kansas City area native averaged 13 points per game off the bench for Mizzou.

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Mizzou had Kansas on the ropes. The Tigers just couldn't deliver that knockout blow. Thomas Robinson scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the No. 4 Kansas Jayhawks (24-5, 14-2) to a comeback 87-86 victory over the No. 3 Missouri Tigers (25-4, 12-4). The loss stings for Missouri, which led Kansas by as many as 19 points in the second-half. "Unfortunately, in the second half, we knew Kansas would make a run, and they did," said Missouri Head Coach Frank Haith. "Some plays didn't go our way; some bang-bang plays didn't go our way. Give Kansas credit, they made plays and they made free throws.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou fell one win short of the best start in school history. Rodney McGruder scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Kansas State Wildcats (19-8, 8-7) to a 78-68 victory over the No. 3 Missouri Tigers (25-3, 12-3) Tuesday night. The Wildcats swept the season series. "Honestly I think a tough ballgame for us. Give K-State credit," said Missouri Head Coach Frank Haith. "I thought our guys competed hard and we fought, but you got to give them credit in terms of ways it was played; I think it was to their advantage.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Mizzou's winning streak stretches to seven games. Senior guard Kim English scored 21 points to lead the No. 3 Missouri Tigers (25-2, 12-2) to a 71-62 victory Saturday at Texas A&M (13-13, 4-10). Mizzou swept its soon-to-be rival in the Southeastern Conference. Missouri survived a late run by Texas A&M. The aggies cut the lead to five points with an Elston Turner 3-pointer with 1:22 remaining. After a Mizzou turnover, the Aggies had a chance to cut that lead to a single possession. David Loubeau was called for a charging foul, after his drive to the lane was cut-off by Steve Moore. Senior guard Marcus Denmon's three-pointer on the following possession extended Mizzou's lead to eight points, sealing the victory.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Marcus Denmon had one of the most memorable minute of play in Mizzou basketball history. The senior guard from Kansas City has been named this week's Big 12 Conference Player of the Week for his performance Saturday night against Kansas. Denmon scored 29 points, including nine-straight to erase an eight-point Jayhawks lead. His nine points came on two three-pointers and a three-point play. STILLWATER, Okla. - Mizzou's No. 2 ranking may not last longer than a week. Freshman Le'Bryan Nash scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Oklahoma State Cowboys (10-10, 3-4) to a 79-72 victory over the No. 2 Missouri Tigers (18-2, 5-2). The upset excited the OSU student section, rushing the floor. "Obviously, it was a tough loss for us," said Missouri Head Coach Frank Haith. "We allowed Oklahoma State to dictate the tempo of the game in how they were running thier offense, and I thought too many loose balls.

WACO, Texas - Mizzou's mental toughness on the road was too much. Ricardo Ratliffe scored a career-high 27 points to lead the No. 5 Missouri Tigers (18-1, 5-1) to an 89-88 victory over the No. 3 Baylor Bears (17-2, 4-2) Saturday afternoon. The win improves Missouri to 2-1 on the road in the Big 12 Conference. The loss is Baylor's second-straight after beginning the season 17-0. "I thought our guys showed a lot of poise down the stretch," said Missouri Head Coach Frank Haith.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri Tigers senior guard Marcus Denmon has been named a finalist for the John Wooden Award. Denmon leads Mizzou in scoring, averaging nearly 18 points per game. He is also grabs five-and-a-half rebounds per game and dishes out nearly three assists per game. Denmon has been a catalyst for No. 5 Mizzou's best start since the 1981-1982 season. The Kansas City native is one of three Big 12 Conference players on the list of 25 college basketball stars.
