LEBANON, Mo. -- The Lebanon Police Department is investigating a break-in and burglary at a local church. Early Sunday morning, the pastor of Real Life Church, located at 2021 S. Jefferson Ave. called for help after discovering a door had been pried open. Church members say thieves took a bag of money from a concesssion stand the congregation operates.  Nothing else was reported missing.

PULASKI COUNTY, Mo., -- It was a deadly weekend on the Missouri waterways after a bizarre accident left a young woman from Lebanon dead.       The incident happened Saturday on the Gasconade River. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lindsey Smith, 20, and two other people had just gotten out of their canoe when they were hit by lightning.      Smith was pronounced dead at the scene; the two others were taken to a local hospital.      Investigators are not sure if the lightning strike killed Smith or if she fell in the water and drowned.

LEBANON, Mo. -- Wagons, Ho! Chows on Saturday afternoon in Lebanon for folks wanting an authentic chuck wagon meal. The Wagons for Warriors rolled into the Ozarks for Memorial Day weekend - setting up camp at the fair grounds. The cooks serve up hot, free meals for Purple Heart recipients and families with service members deployed. Other than that it wass $10 a plate with all the money going to the local Wounded Warrior program to help injured military members in the Ozarks.

Lebanon, MO -    A man sits in the Laclede County jail, accused of robbing a Lebanon bank. Police tell KY3 News he went into the Commerce Bank Tuesday afternoon and gave a teller a note demanding cash.  He ran down Commercial Street and was arrested in the parking lot of a motel.  Police thank citizens who helped them by pointing out where the suspect was running.  Police say he is expected to face federal charges.  No one was hurt in the holdup....

LEBANON, Mo. -- For the fourth time, sentencing for a man from Springfield who admitted he helped kill a woman's boyfriend and her parents has been delayed.  Jacky Wong, 23, pleaded guilty last September for helping Josh Reyes kill Zach Porter, along with Miranda Smith's parents in 2009.  Reyes pleaded guilty to the murders and is serving three consecutive life prison sentences.   Two others await trials or pleas. Wong is now scheduled to be sentenced on October 1 at the Laclede County courthouse.

LEBANON, Mo. - City police are investigating an apparent accidental shooting that killed a cadet.  The Lebanon Daily Record reports Russell Bragg, 24, died on Wednesday night after being shot in the leg. Police said Bragg's friend and fellow cadet was taking apart a gun on the balcony of Bragg's apartment when he bent down to pick up something and a bullet fired.  The round traveled through the victim's leg, then into his stomach and spine area....

LEBANON, Mo. -- A manufacturer here will announce the creation of 200 new jobs on Friday.  Community and state leaders will be at Detroit Tool Metal Products for a news conference at 10 a.m. Detroit Tool manufactures metal products and fabricated components for companies in several industries, including Thomas Bus, AM General, DRS Technologies, American Ordnance, American Railcar, and NACCO. This is the second time in two years that it's expanded its plant here.

One person is dead, another is in the hospital after being hit by a taxi cab in Lebanon. Police say 44-year-old Rickey Bringus and a 50-year-old woman were running towards the cab early Sunday morning when the driver tried to stop, but hit them. The woman, who's name has not been released, was killed.  Bringus was transported to a Springfield hospital and is listed in critical condition. No word on if charges will be filed against the driver.  The investigation is ongoing.

LEBANON, Mo. -- Law officers arrested an accused murderer from Chicago on Tuesday morning.  The U.S. Marshals Service says Brandon Jones, 26, was hiding here with his girlfriend and their three small children. The raid was about 7 a.m. at a home in the 1200 block of Britany Street by members of the Southern Missouri Fugitive Task Force and Lebanon police officers.  They said they found Jones hiding in a bedroom, and arrested him after a brief struggle.  Jones will be held here in the Laclede County jail until he waives extradition to Illinois or the extradition process runs it course.

LEBANON, Mo.-- Laclede County deputies removed two homeless people from their storage unit after it was discovered they were living in there. A 35-year-old Lebanon woman and a 35-year-old Kansas City man were found sleeping on a couch inside. The woman admitted to living there after deputies found a bucket being used a toilet.

LACLEDE COUNTY, Mo. - A man from Arkansas is dead after he exited a moving vehicle on Interstate 44, and a tractor-trailer hit him one minute later as he lay on the westbound lanes of the freeway. Solomon T. Simpson, 19, of Fayetteville, Ark., was killed Wednesday evening when a 2013 Freightliner Century hit him at the 117 mile marker of the westbound lanes of I-44 just west of Lebanon. A crash report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the wreck happened at 11:21 p.m. A separate crash report stated Simpson had one moment earlier exited a 2007 Honda Accord as it was traveling westbound and suffered serious injuries.

LEBANON, Mo. -- Ozarks Technical Community College - Lebanon got a big boost on Thursday -- a $500,000 boost.  Fifty acres of land next to the existing OTC Lebanon Center were donated by the owner, Reuben Casey. Reuben and his late wife, Mary Lou, originally donated the land and buildings that OTC Lebanon calls home a few years back.   There are big plans for the new land.  In addition to the two buildings already in place, OTC hopes to add buildings for the college's health programs and general education programs.

LEBANON, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol announced the arrests of more than a dozen Laclede County residents as they wrapped up a two-year investigation into a narcotics ring Thursday. The Highway Patrol says state troopers, members of the Lake Area Narcotic Enforcement Group and Laclede County Sheriff's Department investigated 34 people in and around Laclede County and obtained warrants for them. The investigations centered on possession, distribution and sale of several drugs, including methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, marijuana and prescription medication.

LEBANON, Mo.-- A 25 year old Lebanon woman died Friday night as the result of a one vehicle accident.  Tosha Odien was killed when the 1998 Ford F150 pickup she was driving ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. The accident happened on Highway MM seven miles east of Lebanon.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Odien was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man from Sikeston received a federal prison sentence of five years and three months for robbing a bank in Lebanon.  Larry Enloe, 52, was sentenced on Wednesday after pleading guilty last Sept. 26. According to court documents, Enloe entered Commerce Bank, 224 W. Commercial St., Lebanon, at about 3:15 p.m. last Aug. 21.  Enloe approached a teller and presented a note (written on the back of a Walmart receipt) that said, "10 seconds.  Put all your money in the bag now.  No one gets hurt.

LEBANON, Mo. - Friends and family of a Lebanon girl who lost her fight with brain cancer will celebrate her life this afternoon. A funeral service is scheduled for Heaven Stockdale, who had been battling a brain tumor since she was just eight months old. Stockdale turned one on Feb. 28. Her grandmother had set up a Facebook page that got hits and messages of support from around the world. The service for Heaven Stockdale starts at 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon.

LEBANON, Mo. - A memorial service for a young man from Lebanon will be held tonight. The service for 23-year old Matthew Bankston will take place at Shadel's Colonial Chapel. Bankston was one of two teenagers beaten at Atchley Park in Lebanon in June of 2007. The other boy, Zach Jones, died. Bankston had permanent injuries from the attack. Four people were charged with beating the teens. Three were convicted of murder and assault, and the fourth hanged himself while in jail.

It is a good day to be an Evangel Crusader football fan. Just three months removed from its first winning season since 2005, third year head Coach Brenton Illum and his staff have just wrapped up what may be one of the most talented recruiting classes in recent memory.   “I think we've got some guys with a lot of top end potential to them. I think this is a really thorough, deep class and far better than we've had until now,” said Illum. The 31-member recruiting class has a distinct local flavor, featuring 10 players from the greater Springfield area.

LEBANON, Mo. -- Police say two people were hurt when a man drove a car into a pawn shop after a dispute over a gun sale Friday afternoon. It happened at Rawhide Gun and Pawn on Commercial Street in downtown Lebanon.    Police tell KY3 that 29-year-old James Jacoby of Lebanon had been in the shop moments before and began arguing with employees who wouldn't let him make a transaction involving a gun.     The man went outside, got into an early 90's model Cadillac Seville owned by his mother, and drove it into the pawn shop, hitting and injuring two people.   Jacoby then backed the car out of the building and ran off.  He was captured by Lebanon Police a short time later and jailed.  Police say he will face charges Saturday.
