SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Just how ready are our kids to learn? KY3 and the Springfield News-Leader are teaming up for a joint initiative that examines if our kids are "Ready to Learn. WARSAW, Mo. -- The Benton County Food Pantry feeds thousands of families every month. Just before Thanksgiving, it was in jeopardy of closing. But, thanks in part to a story on KY3 News, donations have started pouring in to the pantry. "People have been donating food, and it's just like we're back into full operation. It's just been incredible," said Debbie Swerline of the Benton County Food Pantry. This little pantry, tucked away in a Warsaw mini mall, trucks in enough food every month to feed more than 1,100 families. When the engine went out on the organization's truck this month, people in Benton County were left with little hope.
