FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Razorbacks answered many unanswered questions in 2010.  Can they answer fewer questions in 2010? The Arkansas Razorbacks open camp Thursday afternoon, beginning another college football season.   This year's Hogs are met again with expectations, but fewer unanswered questions. "I like a lot of things about this team coming back," said Arkansas Head Coach Bobby Petrino.  "Certainly there are areas that I feel like will really help us, give us an opportunity to be a good football team.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Expectations are high for Arkansas Razorbacks football in 2011.  Five Hogs have been placed on preseason watch lists for two prestigious college football awards. Quarterback Tyler Wilson, running back Knile Davis and wide receiver Greg Childs all were named to the Maxwell Award Watch List.  The award recognizes college football's best player. Defensive end Jake Bequette and linebacker Jerry Franklin were named to the Bednarik Award Watch List.  The Bednarik is awarded to the country's top defensive player.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -The schedule is about to get an upgrade. The No. 14 Arkansas Razorbacks will host the Troy Trojans (0-1) Saturday night in Fayetteville.  Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. on Cox Sports South. Arkansas dominated in its first two games of the season against inferior competition, defeating Missouri State and New Mexico.  The Razorbacks are atop the Southeastern Conference rankings in scoring offense, passing offense, and kickoff returns. "I was happy with the improvement we made from game one to game two," said Arkansas Head Coach Bobby Petrino.  "Our play-makers made a lot of plays for us. " The Hogs have scored three touchdowns on returns.  Joe Adams returned two punts against Missouri State.  Freshman Marquel Wade added a kickoff return against New Mexico.   Arkansas ranks third nationally in return average at 40-yards per game.

A national television audience knew it. A record 76,808 fans at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium knew it. The Alabama Crimson Tide knew it. and the Arkansas Razorbacks knew it too. " We had them right where we wanted them," said defensive end Jake Bequette.  "We had them down going into the fourth quarter and we just didn’t get it done.” Top-ranked Alabama (4-0, 1-0) erased a 13-point deficit late in the second-half to beat the #10 ranked Arkansas (3-1, 1-1)

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Ohio State Buckeyes got the proverbial "monkey" off its back. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor threw for 221 yards and rushed for another 116 yards to lead the Buckeyes (12-1, 7-1) to a thrilling 31-26 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks (10-3, 6-2).  The win ends a nine game bowl losing streak to Southeastern Conference schools. LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The "sweetest" victory yet in the Bobby Petrino era at Arkansas?   It appears that way. Quarterback Ryan Mallett threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Arkansas Razorbacks to a 31-23 win over rival LSU.  The ten-win season sets up the Hogs for the first Bowl Championship Series bid, possibly to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. "It was a heck of a game tonight, it was a battle," said Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino.  "Our guys just kept at it and made some big plays on offense and defense.
