SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- An overnight meth bust in Springfield sent three people to jail. Authorities got a tip that someone might be making the drug at a home in the 3400 block of West Erie. That's near Battlefield and Golden. When deputies arrived, they could smell the chemicals used to make the highly addictive drug. They recovered seven grams of finished meth. Two women and one man were arrested. Another man, described as in his forties, ran from the home. Deputies are still looking for him. Charges are pending.

CAMDENTON, Mo. -- A convicted sex offender is accused of another sex crime. Kai Seamer, 47, is charged with felony forcible sodomy after a 10-month investigation. Seamer was convicted of first degree sexual misconduct with a teenage girl six years ago.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A Greene County judge convicted two people this week for abusing animals two years ago. The trial of Kevin Luske and Dorris Zimmerman followed a raid at a property on Highway H north of Springfield on Feb. 20, 2009. Sheriff’s deputies and rescuers from the Humane Society of Missouri seized three horses, 44 cattle and 20 pit bull terrier adults and puppies during the raid. Jeff McRoy, an investigator for the Humane Society of Missouri, described the cattle as “emaciated, bones showing, in definite need of medical care.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., -- One man was rushed to the hospital after being run over early Sunday morning and another man has been taken to jail. Springfield police say a fight broke out in the parking lot of a convenience store at National and Grand. During the melee, the suspect reportedly smashed a beer bottle over the victim's head, backed over him with a car and then sped off. Officers caught up with the driver a short time later. The suspect, whose name has not been released, is charged with a DWI and more charges could be filed.

HARRISON, Ark. -- A convicted sex offender is back behind bars after city police arrested him for entering a school building. Police say Franklin Reed attended several parent-teacher conferences without alerting the district that he is a Level 3 Sex Offender. Police say Reed was allowed to roam the halls without a chaperone. A judge set Reed's bond at $50,000.

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- Baxter County Sheriff John Montogmery is concerned about the looming crisis "We are headed for what we call the 'train wreck,' because it's coming," Montgomery said. Years ago, money was set aside for constructing the new Baxter County detention facility. However, the sheriff explained, not enough funding was allocated for continued maintenance and operation of the jail. So, this past November, voters in Baxter County were asked to approve a one-fourth percent sales tax to help pay for the funding shortfall. The initiative, however, failed.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A group of citizens that has spent several years studying the law enforcement system in Greene County says more revenue is needed to expand the overcrowded county jail. HARRISON, Ar. -- A man shot in the arm while trying to break into a home near Harrison is now in the Boone County jail. Lance Milam was released from a hospital in Springfield on Wednesday. SPRINGFIELD, -- Family members of the Springfield woman fatally hit by a car say law enforcement, could have prevented it. Christina Rumple was involved in car wreck Thursday night. Police arrested her on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Booking records show Christina Rumple was released from the Greene County jail on a DWI charge at 12:31 A.M. Friday. 15 minutes later she was hit by a car at Chestnut Expressway and Boonville Avenue. While workers with the sheriff's office would not discuss specifics about this case, they say that's procedure and an average time for holding someone in this situation.

WAYNESVILLE, Mo. -- Two men are charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl at a home in Pulaski County. Ned Gordon of Waynesville and Andre Shephard Jr. of Devils Elbow are in jail on a quarter million dollars bond each. The sheriff says the girl accused the men of attacking her on January 27th. She was interviewed last week and told investigators she was intoxicated and unable to resist the alleged attack.
