HOLLISTER, Mo. -- At 4:03 a.m. Tuesday, the Western Taney County Fire District was dispatched to a report of a locomotive on fire near the Waste Water Treatment Plant on Railroad Ave.  When units arrived, the train was not found and crews had to wait briefly for the train to arrive.  When the train came to a stop, railroad employees on the train reported there was a fire still burning on the middle locomotive of three in the train.  Firefighters worked...

A guilty plea for a woman from Hollister, charged with kidnapping. Brandi Crapps admitted she played a part in holding a man, a 15-year-old girl and a 6-month-old baby at gunpoint in his house back in July.  No one was hurt. She received a 30-day suspended sentence.  Twenty-two-year-old Andrew Burton is also charged in the case.

Police in Hollister are investigating the death of a 6 month old girl.  She was found not breathing in a home Wednesday, and died after being rushed to Skaggs hospital in Branson.  Police say there were no obvious signs of foul play.  An autopsy will be conducted Thursday to try to determine how the child died.

Hollister, MO - Investigators are working to determine if a fire at a Hollister apartment complex was intentionally set.  Police are looking for what they call two people spotted leaving the scene of the fire about 9:30 Tuesday morning.  The four unit apartment was heavily damaged.  One firefighter was slightly hurt when part of the roof fell on him, another was overcome by the heat. No residents were hurt.  The state fire marshal's office is looking for the cause.

HOLLISTER, Mo. -- Western Taney County firefighters say they may never know what caused a Sunday morning house fire in Hollister. The fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived at the home in the 100 block of Walnut Street.  Fire was also visible throughout the entire residence.  Firefighters quickly worked to contain the fire to only the structure.  A search of the building determined the home had been vacant for some time.  ...

HOLLISTER, Mo. -- A sprinkler put out a fire in a nursing home on Monday morning.   Smoke filled a wing of the Point Lookout Nursing Home, however, and the staff moved residents to other areas. Western Taney County firefighters were sent to the home about 8 a.m. but the fire was out by the time they arrived.  Investigators say the fire started in an in-wall heating unit and spread to a bed, curtains and wall.  The room has heavy fire, smoke and water damage.   The rest of the wing has smoke and water damage.  Firefighters helped the staff remove smoke and water from the wing.

HOLLISTER, Mo.--  All aboard!  Santa's train pulls into the Hollister station Sunday afternoon to get kids into the holiday spirit. Santa Clause will be at the Train Depot from 1:30 until 3:00 on Sunday, before he has to return to the North Pole. Christmas goodies and face-painting are available for everyone who visits with jolly Ol' Saint Nick. The Santa Train has become an annual tradition that kids in Hollister. TANEY COUNTY -- Firefighters in Taney County spent their Sunday morning fighting a house fire near Hollister.     When crews were called to the 100 block of Walnut Street around 5:30, the single story house was fully engulfed and flames were visible throughout the structure. Crews were able to get the fire out quickly. The home was vacant and the cause of the fire has been ruled undetermined because of the extend of the damage.

HOLLISTER, Mo. -- For the third year, Haunted Ozarks is celebrating Halloween and supporting a local charity. "This is our biggest year.  We're in a bigger building, we have Hollywood style-sets, all custom designed props.  You will not see a prop in our haunted house that you will see anywhere else.  We build them all specifically for this attraction," said John Suscheck, owner of the haunted house. The crew at Haunted Ozarks started building the props in July. "We have a deep-seated passion for this.

FORSYTH, Mo. -- A man from Hollister will stand trial months after leading officers from several law enforcement agencies on a chase. Johnny Bryan is set to be arraigned on June 13, and he faces charges from a chase in December that went through three counties. Authorities say Bryan hit three patrol cars and tried running over a deputy at an apartment north of Branson. The ensuing chase ended near Highlandville, where Bryan bolted and went on the run for nearly two months before being caught.

BRANSON, Mo.  - At its Table Rock campus, Ozarks Technical Community College is helping sharpen minds and shape lives. "If there had not been a campus here in Branson I would not have been able to attend school... because at the time I started I couldn't afford driving up to Springfield every day," explained student Kathy Westmoreland. Westmoreland is a part of the growing number of people getting degrees at the campus.  The facility is currently at the Branson Meadows shopping center.  However, in Hollister, the future is taking shape with a new campus.

FORSYTH, Mo. - A court-appointed public defender will represent a man charged with killing a woman from Hollister in 2003. Philip Dodd made his initial appearance in Taney County court Tuesday, having been charged with first-degree murder for the death of 19-year-old Rebecca Sutton. Sutton disappeared from her home in 2003, and her remains were later found in the Mark Twain National Forest. According to authorities, Dodd said he was at Sutton's apartment on the night of her death, and claimed she overdosed on drugs.

BRANSON, Mo. -- City police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident on Saturday on Cliff Drive, just east of Pocahontas Street.  A motorcycle operated by Jonathan W. Brooks, 30, of Hollister, struck a tree. Police say excessive speed likely was a contributing factor in the accident.  Brooks received medical attention at the scene but died there.

HOLLISTER, Mo. - A fire destroyed a mobile home at 137 Pine Tree St. late Monday night.  Western Taney County firefighters got the call about 11 p.m. and the home was engulfed in flames when they arrived. Eighteen firefighters from three stations took about two hours to put out the fire.  No one was living in the home.  A next door neighbor reported the fire.

FORSYTH, Mo. -- A convicted bank robber is charged with killing a woman from Hollister 10 years ago.  The Taney County prosecuting attorney charged Phillip Dodd, 40, with first-degree murder on Thursday.  Dodd is charged with killing Becky Sutton on March 21, 2003.  Sutton, 19, disappeared from her home in Hollister, leaving behind her 2-year-old son, Cole.  It was the son who alerted a neighbor that his mother was gone when he was found wandering around the courtyard in their apartment complex.  The neighbor then called Sutton's mother, who alerted the Hollister Police Department.

TANEY COUNTY, Mo. - There is a possible break in a decade-old cold case investigation on a Hollister woman's murder. Authorities are expected to release new information into the death of Becky Sutton this afternoon. Sutton was 19 years old when she disappeared from her apartment in Hollister. On the morning of March 21, 2003, a neighbor found Sutton's two year-old boy wondering outside his apartment alone. A neighbor called Sutton's mom, Susan, to tell her what was going on. Police said there were no signs of forced entry and very few clues, and they didn't call her disapperance a criminal investigation right away.

HOLLISTER, Mo. -- A 26-year-old man from Hollister is behind bars, charged with raping and molesting an 11-year-old girl in December 2012. Online court documents show Paul Eagle is charged with child molestation and statutory rape.  On Wednesday, a Taney County judge refused to lowed Eagle's $50,000 bail bond.  He'll be back in court February 19 for his preliminary hearing.

HOLLISTER, Mo. -- White River Valley Electric Cooperative restored power to about 200 customers Wednesday morning after an attempted copper theft. WRVEC says the thieves dug a series of holes to steal copper off a telephone cable.  Instead, they hit a power line.  Jeff Pardeck, a spokesman for White River Valley Electric, says the thief likely was injured because his tools were abandoned at the site.  The power company says a ground wire may have saved his life.

HOLLISTER, Mo. -- City leaders say the time is right. But, the state says money is too tight when it comes to funding a new passenger train route through town. On Thursday, officials with the Missouri Department of Transportation met with Branson and Hollister leaders to discuss way to revive rail passenger service. These days, classic passenger trains operate out of Branson's historic downtown depot.  However, those on board the Branson Scenic Railway never get far.  The service is simply a 20-minute excursion ride.
