FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The magic is gone from Bud Walton Arena. The Alabama Crimson Tide (18-9, 7-6) used a 19-2 run at the end of the first-half and the beginning of the second-half to beat the Arkansas Razorbacks (17-11, 5-8) 79-68 at Bud Walton Arena Thursday.  The loss is Arkansas' second-straight at home. Arkansas jumped out to an early lead after a hot shooting start.  The Razorbacks opened the game five-of-five from three-point range.  It built a double-digit lead by as many as 12 points.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Time is running out on the Arkansas Razorbacks. Mike Anderson's Razorbacks (17-8, 5-5) will go to Knoxville Wednesday night in search of the season's first road win at the Tennessee Volunteers (13-12, 5-5).  Tip-off is at 7:00 on the SEC Network.  The Hogs are 17-0 inside Bud Walton Arena, but 0-8 elsewhere.  Including Tennessee, Arkansas has just three chances to earn an all-important road victory.  That road record may make or break the Razorbacks post-season chances.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Arkansas' road woes continue. Sophomore guard Trevor Releford scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Alabama Crimson Tide (14-7, 3-4) to 72-66 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks (15-6, 3-3) Saturday at Coleman Coliseum. "The game went probably as scripted," said Arkansas Head Coach Mike Anderson.  "In the end we didn't make some execution plays going down the stretch and they did.  I thought it was a hard fought game between two good teams. " Arkansas jumped out to a fast start.  The "Fastest 40 Minutes" looked like it was living up to its nickname in the first four minutes of the game.  Arkansas took an early 15-12 lead.  Alabama kept it close till the end of the half.  The Tide outscored the Hogs 14-4 over the final eight minutes, taking a 37-30 lead.  Arkansas fired fast in the second-half too.  The Hogs took a 56-54 lead with 6:59 to go.  The Tide then responded, going on a 9-0 run.  A young Hogs squad could never recover after that.

"I am very excited about the young men that we have signed," said Pelphrey. ESPN and Rivals.com rank the class among its top three nationally.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - It was a tale of two halves for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Arkansas built a 20-point lead in the first-half, then survived a second-half rally by No. 20 Michigan Wolverines (15-5, 5-2) for a 66-64 victory Saturday at Bud Walton Arena.  Michigan never led in the game, but had a chance to win with a three-pointer at the buzzer, that rattled in-and-out. "We couldn't have had a better start to the game," said Arkansas Head Coach Mike Anderson. "This was a confidence boost for our team.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Razorbacks hope the Class of 2012 fills instant needs. The Hogs inked 23 recruits on signing day.   Arkansas is waiting for Chicago-area offensive lineman Jordan Diamond to make his decision.  The four-star is considered one of the best prospects not yet signed.  As for the other spot, that's unknown. Louisiana linebacker Otha Peters headlines the class.  The 6'1", 221-pound four-star senior had been a long-time commitment to Tennessee.  Arkansas coaches flipped that commitment after a visit the weekend before signing day.  He fills a big need with the graduation of starters Jerico Nelson and Jerry Franklin.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- An estimated 10,000 feral hogs root up and roam the Ozarks, and the Missouri Conservation Department wants to get rid of them.  Shoot 'em on sight, yes. Hunt them, no. A few years ago, they invaded Greg Stevens' property near Sparta.  "They're a pretty big nuisance.  They tear up the ground and eating all the acorns, turkey eggs; I think they kill deer fawns," Stevens told KY3 in 2009. He caught multiple wild hogs on his game camera.  Some may be the products of free-range farming long ago. Others may have been illegally released.

It was business as usual for Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett. The Heisman hopeful threw for 301 yards and tied a school record three touchdowns to lead the Arkansas Razorbacks (1-0) to a 44-3 season opening victory against Tennessee Tech (0-1). "I felt like we struggled at times," said head coach Bobby Petrino. "We can’t be satisfied with three turnovers and not getting points on the board. " In his career, Mallett has tied or broken 18 school records in just 14 starts for the Hogs.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M showed no mercy on the Arkansas. FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Tyler Wilson's return to the Arkansas lineup was overshadowed by his opposing quarterback. Gary Nova threw for 397-yards and five touchdowns to lead the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (4-0, 1-0) to a 35-to-26 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks (1-3, 0-1) Saturday night in Fayetteville.  It is the third-straight defeat for the Razorbacks. "You have to give Rutgers a ton of credit, they are a good football team," said Arkansas Head Coach John L. Smith.  "Our guys hung in there and battled, battled hard till the very end, just didn't make enough plays to win it. " Arkansas's Tyler Wilson returned after missing last week against Alabama with a head injury.  He found his favorite target, senior Cobi Hamilton often.  Hamilton caught ten passes for a Southeastern Conference record 303-yards.  He broke Jarius Wright's previous school-record of 283-yards set last season against Texas A&M. "I really didn't know I had that many yards until after the game," said Hamilton.  "We just came up short.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A shocker in Little Rock. Quarterback Kolton Browning accounted for 481 total yards and three touchdowns to lead the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks (1-0) to a 34-31 overtime victory over the No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks (1-1).  The loss is Arkansas' first in Little Rock since LSU beat the Hogs in 2006. We have to do a better job. " Arkansas starting quarterback Tyler Wilson left the game just before halftime with an injury described as "above the shoulder.
