      TONIGHT Mid 60s Thunderstorms along with tornadoes, large hail, high winds and locally heavy rain possible WEDNESDAY Upper 70s Partly Cloudy with storms forming late morning or early afternoon.  Storms will likely be severe. THURSDAY Mid 60s Mostly Cloudy with light rain early and colder 12-hour forecast 24-hour forecast Satellite & Radar Wind Chill Allergy Index Almanac 12:30 PM Update   A broken line of thunderstorms has now moved east and is basically along and west of Highway 65.  A few of the storms are producing moderate hail to the size of quarters.  Storm tracker 3 has been detecting winds between 40 and 50 mph.  A couple reports of power outages have been received.  The line of storms continues to move east at 20-25 mph while individual storms move north-northeast at 45 mph.  The storms have maintained their strength over the last hour and I would not expect much change for the next few hours.  The tornado threat continues to diminish with hail and high winds the main problems.  Strong lightning has been reported with the storms as well and residents should stay away from...

HARTVILLE, Mo. -- The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that killed a commercial truck driver on Thursday afternoon. Troopers say the driver drove the truck off Missouri 5 and struck a tree north of Hartville.   The truck was hauling medical oxygen tanks.  It was a one-vehicle crash.

STOCKTON, Mo. -- The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating the drowning of a swimmer on Stockton Lake Saturday. 36-year-old Christopher Roper was swimming at Stockton Lake's public beach No. 1 when witnesses say he went underwater without surfacing immediately.  Medical personnel resuscitated Roper at the scene.  He later died at Citizens Memorial Hospital. This is the second drowning for for Troop D of the Missouri Highway Patrol in 2013.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., -- Traffic is back to normal on Highway 65 in Springfield after a late night motorcycle crash on Friday. The accident happened around 9p.m. near I-44. Investigators say the driver lost control of his bike and slid into the median. He was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The funeral is Monday for a local Highway Patrol trooper who was killed on vacation. Services for Corporal Don Ivie are at 10 a.m. at Praise Assembly Church in Springfield.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery North.  There will be no visitation. It was a week ago Sunday when Ivie fell to his death while climbing at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Cpl. Ivie was an 18 year veteran of the Highway Patrol.

MISSOURI -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol is stepping up enforcement over this holiday weekend. Officers are taking part in the 20-mile trooper project on Monday.  The plan calls for troopers to be stationed every 20-miles on the interstate and other main roadways. GREENE COUNTY, Mo. -- A crash on Highway 13 just north of Springfield on Saturday sent three people to the hospital. According to officers, a motorcyclist pulled out in front of traffic and was t-boned by an SUV; the SUV flipped, trapping three people in the cab. The motorcyclist suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash.  He and the family in the SUV were taken to a Springfield hospital.  All of them are expected to recover....
