SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- City police are investigating a home invasion. It happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at Old Monterey apartments on East Montclair Street at Jefferson Avenue. A woman told police that she heard a knock on her door. When she opened the door, she said a man forced his way inside with a gun. He demanded prescription drugs but, when she didn't have any, he hit her with the gun, took her cell phone, and ran away.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- An armed robber held up a Pizza Hut restaurant late Sunday night. It happened just after 11 p.m. at 1201 N. Grant Ave., near Webster Street. Police say the man pointed a gun at the employee, took cash, and ran off.

SARASOTA, Fla.-- An Army staff sergeant is being hailed as a hero, for what he did when a man pulled out a gun and aimed it at his family. Staff SGT Eddie Peoples is an Iraq war veteran. He was on leave, at the bank with two of his boys when he came face to face with a man with a gun who police say was there to commit robbery. "He's pointing the weapon right at me, but I don't care, I'm trying to get my children out of his line of fire," said Peoples. With the gunman looming, Peoples tells his kids to get under the seats.

GREEN FOREST, Ark. - A Shell Knob man faces attempted murder charges, accused of shooting at his estranged wife. The shooting happened at a restaurant in Green Forest, Arkansas. VERSAILLES, Mo. -- Two men and one woman face murder charges for the deaths of a couple from Morgan County on Monday. Darrell Spellmeyer, Garland Mitchell, and Mandy Mitchell each face two counts of second-degree murder for the shootings of Freddy Wilson and his wife, Carol. The Mitchells are married. The sheriff says one of the victims called 911, saying they had been shot. When authorities arrived at the house, a driver of a van tried to hit a deputy's car. The driver eventually ran the van into a ditch, where two men and a woman were arrested. Investigators say they found a gun and a bottle of Hydrocodone belonging to Carol Wilson.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Court documents reveal names of two people considered suspects in the deaths of a couple from rural Greene County last year. U.S. Marshals arrested Tony and Windy Friend on Wednesday at the home where they lived at 3155 W. Brower St., lot #10, in Springfield. Both Tony Friend, 44, and Windy Friend, 31, were charged in Greene County associate circuit court with possessing methamphetamine. Tony Friend was also charged in U.S. District Court with being a felon in possession of a weapon. He is previously convicted for unlawful use of a weapon and domestic assault.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The billboards for Springfield's previous gun show in December have yet to come down, and the next gun show is already about to start. The Ozark Empire Fairgrounds will host the second of three guns shows in a four month span starting January 19th. The previous gun show was in December. The next is in March. And according to website GunTrader.com , gun shows in Branson and Ozark have recently been added to the 2013 schedule. Meanwhile, gun dealers as well as gun ranges are enjoying a flood of business. In Ozark, Sound of Freedom USA co-owner A.G. Paul says he has had to limit the amount of ammunition people can buy because of dwindling supplies. He has also had to hire extra staff to handle the crowds.

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- Guns were going to the highest bidders at Saturday's gun auction in Bolivar. Organizers of the Diamond S gun auction say events like this usually draw big crowds- but not quite this big. About a 1,000 people showed up at the auction. With the fears over gun control laws, folks say they're buying up guns and ammo however they can- while they can.

OZARK -- Even on a Wednesday night, The Sound of Freedom USA in Ozark was a popular place for people to get in a little target practice. It was not just adults, though, who were firing off rounds. Sharing a love of shooting is a family tradition for many, but if recent gun sales are any indication, it could be becoming even more popular. Tara Teeling never thought she'd be into guns. "I used to be scared of them actually. I used to be really scared of them," said Teeling.
