COLUMBIA, Mo. - The wait is finally over for Missouri Tigers fans. Mizzou opens its inaugural Southeastern Conference football season season Saturday at Faurot Field against Southeast Louisiana. Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m. "Quite frankly, we have to get better each and every week," said Head Coach Gary Pinkel. "Going into this season we understand the people we are playing and we have to play well and it is my job to get that done. " Missouri enters the 2012 season with plenty of expectations, but also a few question marks. Junior quarterback James Franklin shined in 2011. However, he missed all of spring practice with a shoulder injury. That shoulder has been the talk of preseason drills following Franklin's play in his first season as a starter. He finished the year throwing for 2,865 yards and 21 touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback rushed for another 981 yards and 15 touchdowns. Franklin says he's ready to go, despite surgery just a few months ago. Missouri has plenty of weapons for Franklin in 2012. Senior receiver T.J. Moe returns as Mizzou's go-to receiver. Moe should benefit from the play of freshman receiver Dorial Green Beckham. The Springfield Hillcrest High School star has impressed coaches so far with not only his ability, but how he competes.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Wearing his brand-new number 15 black, gold, gray and white jersey, Springfield's Dorial Green-Beckham looks the part at the Mizzou Tigers training camp. Tigers' camp opening with Dorial off the depth chart; something head coach Gary Pinkel says a freshman has to earn. Many Tiger fans packed Faurot Field hoping for an autograph from the nation's number-one recruit last spring. Dorial is taking the pressure and attention in stride. He was seen joking with teammates and graciously signing autographs for fans.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Between the new uniforms and plans to renovate Faurot Field, it's clear the University of Missouri and its fans are excited about moving to the SEC. At Shryocks Callaway Farms in Columbia, that excitement has 'grown' to a whole new level with the college football season kicking off in less than a month. The farm has devised a corn maze in honor of Mizzou's conference switch. It depicts Truman the Tiger with an SEC sign and the words “A New Era.” Corn mazes are an annual tradition at Callaway Farms.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - No James Franklin, no problem for now. Missouri's back-up quarterbacks stole the annual Black and Gold scrimmage Saturday at Faurot Field in Columbia. Red-shirt freshman Corbin Berkstresser and sophomore Ashton Glaser combined to throw for 400 yards and three touchdowns. Starting quarterback James Franklin did not play, recovering an injury to his shoulder during spring drills. Running-back is another position Mizzou must answer before the start of the 2012 season. All-Big 12 performer Henry Josey remains questionable for the start of the season, after he injured his knee at the end of the 2011 season. Marcus Murphy led the Tigers rushing attack in the Black and Gold game with 10 carries for 87 yards. Kendial Lawrence added 69 yards on six carries.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The injury-riddled 2011 season for the Missouri Tigers just got worse. Big 12 Conference leading rusher Henry Josey is out for the season after tearing an ACL, MCL and patellar tendon in his knee in the third-quarter of Mizzou's victory over Texas Saturday. Doctors say early prognosis after surgery looks promising for Josey. "Obviously you have to feel really badly for Henry," said Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel after the game. "Now you got to have Kendial Lawrence fill in and De'Vion Moore got to do that.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri and Texas do it differently in the pass-happy Big 12 Conference. The two rushing attacks will meet Saturday at Faurot Field. The No. 21 Longhorns (6-2, 3-2) rank first in the conference in rushing with 246 yards per game. Mizzou (4-5, 2-3) ranks second, just three yards short. "In the past it's been how many yards are you going to throw for or how many touchdowns you ar going to throw," said Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel on his offense. "So it's changed quite a bit. " Sophomore Henry Josey leads the Tigers' ground game and the conference. Josey is averaging 127 yards per game. He ranks first nationally with 43 rushes of ten-yards or more. 12 of those runs have come against ranked schools.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Oklahoma State did it by air and gorund. Joseph Randle scored four touchdowns to lead the No. 4 Cowboys (7-0, 4-0) to a 45-24 victory Saturday over the Missouri Tigers (3-4, 1-3) at Faurot Field. Quarterback Brandon Weeden played well too. The senior threw for 348 yards and three touchdown passes. But Weeden's fast start put the Tigers behind early, throwing those three touchdown passes in the first half. "I give them a lot of credit, they're a really good football team," said Pinkel. "Again I think we just have to play better, and that's my job. " Missouri fell behind 24-7 early in the second-quarter, before quarterback James Franklin led Mizzou back in the game. Franklin led the Tigers on two straight scoring drives to go into halftime 24-17.
