TODAY 50s Increasing high clouds, but warmer. TONIGHT 20s/30s Partly cloudy. FRIDAY Mainly 30s Partly cloudy. 12-hour forecast 24-hour forecast 7-Day Forecast Wind Chill Satellite & Radar Almanac   Good morning!  A warm-up is in store for today with plenty of sunshine to start.  High clouds will increase as the day wears on, but highs will be well into the fifties.  In fact part of northern Arkansas may flirt with 60°.  This will be a one day treat however, as a cold front will move through tonight.  Very little moisture will accompany the front so I expected to move through dry.  The wind may get fairly gusty on either side of the front and then calm down again in the morning.  Much colder air will move into the Ozarks behind this front with highs only in the thirties for Friday and Saturday.  Upper energy and limited moisture may also produce a stray snow flurry here or there.  This cold air will quickly moving east by Sunday, and our highs will jump nearly 20°.  It will be are raced to get moisture from the Gulf of Mexico before the next storm system arrives on Monday.  Rain appears likely, with the highest amounts again favoring the eastern Ozarks.  Long range models continue to indicate a very active storm pattern for...

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Budding gardeners are busy browsing the rows of flowers, trees, and potted plants at local greenhouses this week.  But, with temperatures expected to drop up to 50 degrees Thursday night, many of them are holding off on planting. "I'm just getting this for my garden spot before they got too picked-over.  As far as the weather, I'm going to keep them inside for the time being and wait for the cold to go away again," said Zack Christensen, a first-time gardener.

TODAY Mainly 40s Mostly sunny but cool. TONIGHT 30s Mostly clear. THURSDAY 60s Mostly sunny & much warmer. 12-hour forecast 24-hour forecast 7-Day Forecast Wind Chill Satellite & Radar Almanac Good morning!  A large upper trough is spinning over the Great Lakes this morning.  We're getting what amounts to a "backlash" of colder air today, and most of us will see a decrease in highs compared to Tuesday.  Surface high pressure will move overhead later today and the wind will come down as well.  Tonight that wind will turn to the southeast, keeping us in the lower 30s much of the night.  On Thursday a wave of upper energy will move just north of us, bringing a few clouds.  A southwest wind will blow and bring a nearly 20-degree jump in our highs.  Friday will be even warmer with most of us in the lower to middle 70s.  A cold front will move in fairy early Saturday, but it will be dry initially.  How far south this front gets will impact both temperatures and our rain chance, as the rain will fall north of the front Saturday night and Sunday.  If the front stalls closer to the Arkansas line the Ozarks could end up fairly dry with this system with the rain centered over central and northern Missouri.  If the front drops into central Arkansas the...
