Barbecued cheddar burgers Recipe by Jim Lekander Category: entrée Prep time: 30 minutes Servings: 8 Ingredients 3-1/2 pounds ground beef 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (your choice) 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 cup cheddar cheese 8 hamburger buns 8 lettuce leaves 8 slices tomatoes Directions   Mix the ground beef with the salt, pepper and barbecue sauce.

1 Granny Smith apple, cored and thinly sliced 2 cups, shredded sharp cheddar cheese 3 12-inch tortillas 1 cup of sour cream 1 tablespoon of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (as needed) olive oil   Drizzle olive oil into a large saute pan.  Turn onto medium high heat.  When pan is hot place a tortilla into the pan and spread the cheese thinly over the whole tortilla.    Place granny smith slices over half of the tortilla.

10 jalapeños 4 ounces of sharp cheddar cheese, cut into thin julienne pieces 1 granny Smith apple, cut into thin julienne pieces 5 long slices of bacon, cut in half 10 toothpicks Cut the cap off of each jalapeño and scrape out the seeds.  Using gloves may be necessary, so as not to burn your skin.  Be careful not to break or crack the jalapeño. Put one slice of apple, and one or two (depending on how many you can fit) slices of cheese into each jalapeno.

12 18- to 20-size raw, peeled and deveined shrimp 1/2 cup plus 1/2 cup of mayonnaise 1/2 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning 8 strips of cooked cooked bacon 4 slices of cheddar cheese 4 hoagie buns 4 leaves of romaine lettuce 1 cup of Panko bread crumbs Mix mayonnaise and Cajun seasoning.  Separate mayonnaise into two equal portions, reserving one portion for later. Using one portion of the mayonnaise, coat the shrimp and then roll the shrimps in the Panko bread crumbs.  Bake in a 400-degree oven for 12 minutes.

1 stick of butter 2/3 cup of flour 1 small yellow onion, finely diced 2 cups of chopped broccoli 4 cups of milk 1/2 cup of beer 2 cups of shredded cheddar (to taste) salt and pepper In a stock pot, melt butter on medium high heat and add chopped onions. Sauté until onions are tender and begin to become translucent. Add flour and stir for approximately one minute or until flour begins to smell slightly nutty. Then add beer; whisk until incorporated. Then add milk slowly while whisking constantly until milk is smoothly incorporated and there are no lumps.

Eight pieces sliced white bread 2 chicken breasts 2 tsp salt and pepper 8 slices cheddar cheese 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese 2/3 cup buffalo sauce Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, cook in a 350 degree oven until chicken shreds.  Toss shredded chicken in buffalo sauce.  Place one slice of cheddar onto each piece of bread. Portion the blue cheese onto four of the pieces of bread, top blue cheese with shredded chicken. Drizzle a medium sauté pan with olive oil and turn stove to medium high heat.  Place piece of bread with chicken into heating pan and top with one of the pieces with only cheddar.  Cook for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese melt.  Cut into bite size pieces for an appetizers or serve whole for a meal recipe serves eight or four.
