Thursday marked day five of the search for a missing woman with Alzheimers.  Hellen Cook, 72, was last seen in Benton County, Mo.  The disappearance of a loved one is a concern for hundreds of thousands of families affected by the disease. "We want her back.  She's tiny, she's alone, she's afraid.  If they dropped her off on a road she didn't remember, how's she going to make it home?" said Teresa Cook, the woman's daughter-in-law. The family of Hellen Cook is on an all-out search for for the mother, grandmother, and wife.  She was last seen at the family's summer vacation spot in Benton County, Mo., Saturday morning around 11:30 a.m.  "We don't have any idea, and that's part of being an Alzheimer's patient, I don't know what she was thinking.  I don't know what she was doing," said Michael Rose, the woman's son. It is a terrifying situation for the Cook family.  They've had to search for Hellen before but have always found her quickly.

Warsaw, Mo. --  Benton County Sheriff's Deputy, Michael Cash, 47, was charged Friday with two counts of statutory sodomy and one count of child molestation.  The Missouri Highway Patrol assisted in the investigation over the past several weeks and says there may be more victims in the case.   Cash was the DARE officer for Benton County and is currently being held on $100,000 bond in Saline County.  Court documents show the victim in the case was...

CLINTON, Mo. -- The manhunt for murder suspect Lonny Mays is over.  The Henry County sheriff says Mays showed up at the Sheriff's Department with his attorney on Tuesday morning.  He had not been charged, as of late morning. Law enforcement officers started looking for Mays on Monday after they found Rudy Romdall, 66, dead of a gunshot wound in Romdall's vehicle along Henry County SE 1301 Road, near Missouri 7 near Tightwad.  Investigators learned Mays, 67, had a fight with Romdall on Monday around 8 a.m.  Witnesses said they heard several gunshots and thought they saw Mays drive away in a pickup, possibly headed east towards Warsaw.

WARSAW, Mo.  -- After weeks of searching for a woman who disappeared in Benton County, searchers believe they recovered the remains of Hellen Cook. The Benton County Sheriff's Department and members of the Missouri Region C Technical Rescue Team believe they found the remains of Cook, 72, near a lake where her personal items were discovered a few weeks ago.  Pending DNA test will positively identify the remains.  The family has positively identified items found with the remains as those belonging to Cook.  Cook suffered from Alzheimer's disease at the time she walked away from her property in Benton County on July 13, 2013.  Her family thought she might be trying to get back to her former home in Buckner, east of Kansas City.

Warsaw, MO - The Benton County, MO sheriff's office confirms an elderly woman died Friday afternoon at a fire at a campground in the Warsaw area.  Her name has not been releaed.  The state fire marshal's office is investigating.

A local hero has died while fighting in Afghanistan. First Sergeant Bill Siercks died Saturday from injuries he received in an RPG attack on Wednesday. The 32-year-old Army Ranger was a native of Benton County, Missouri, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1997. He leaves behind a wife and two children. 1SG Siercks will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.  No word yet on the date.

BENTON COUNTY, Mo. -- Law enforcers in Benton County are looking for a missing elderly woman from Warsaw. Officers believe Helen Cook, 73, could be in danger because she has Alzheimer's disease and walked away from her home. She was last seen around noon on Saturday near Walnut Grove Road in Warsaw; she was wearing jean shorts and a white T-shirt. Cook is described as being 5-feet tall and weighs about 95-pounds. She has short brown hair.      Authorities say she may be walking to her former home in Buckner, Missouri.

WARSAW -- Divers spent Saturday morning searching a pond where a missing woman's personal items were found. On Thursday, volunteers discovered Hellen Cook's shoes, scarf, and hat on the banks of the pond. The divers search did not yield anything.      Family members said they plan to meet with the Benton County Sheriff's Department to talk about their next steps.  Cook has Alzheimer's and has not had her medication since she walked away from a family vacation home a little more than two weeks ago.

ROGERS, Ark --   A mother drowned while saving her sons' lives.   The incident happened in Beaver Lake near Monte Ne. Benton County authorities said the body of 39-year-old Kimberlee Weaber of Rogers was found Saturday afternoon in about five feet of water.  Weaber swam to her two sons about 30 to 40 feet off shore and saved them before she disappeared underwater.     Her 10- and 12-year-old sons were treated at a hospital in Rogers.

WARSAW, Mo-- The water patrol is investigating a drowning on Truman Lake.    Michael Southard of Phillipsburg died Wednesday night when he and another person tried to retrieve a boat that drifted down the lake.     Two Benton County Deputies swam out into the lake but couldn't find Southard.  The water patrol used a rescue boat and sonar to locate him.  Southard was 24.       The other person made it back to shore okay.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Members of Walmart's Walton family are supporting a campaign that would ask voters in Benton County, Arkansas to approve alcohol sales in the dry county. The group Keep Dollars in Benton County is gathering signatures to get the issue on the ballot. Funding for the petition drive was provided by Tom and Steuart Walton, who are the sons of Jim Walton and grandsons of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton. If approved, liquor stores could open in the county and restaurants could sell alcohol.

Another deadly crash on this Sunday, this one in Benton County.      The highway patrol says a car crossed the center line of Highway 65 in Sedalia Saturday night, hitting another vehicle head-on. A passenger in the second car, 22-year-old Brandon Debates, was killed.  He was from Warsaw.
