An Izard County deputy is in the hospital after being hit by a car. The Arkansas State Police say Izard County Deputy Acy Beebe was clearing a deer accident from Highway 69 near Melbourne Friday morning when a passing vehicle hit him with the driver-side mirror. Beebe was thrown into the air and landed seven feet away from where he was standing.  The driver returned to the scene ten minutes after the accident.  He's charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of the accident and not having insurance.

The Arkansas State Police are looking into what caused a Baxter County Sheriff's deputy to crash his car. The sheriff says Cpl. Eddie Elliot was responding to an accident, when his patrol car ran off the road and hit two parked vehicles.  No one was hurt

NEWTON COUNTY, Ark.-- A man from Oklahoma City, Okla. was killed in a motorcycle crash in Newton County, Arkansas. State police say Wesley Wood lost control of his bike on Highway 21 near Boxley Saturday afternoon and hit a ditch. He was 28 years old.

The Arkansas State Police say Linda Whitaker was walking across Highway 65 Friday night in Belefonte, Arkansas, when she was hit by a truck. No word on if charges will be filed against the driver. She was 46-year-old.

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- An Arkansas State Police report indicates David Shoras was driving down Arkansas 5 when his vehicle swerved off the road.  The car struck a private drive, went airborne, hit a fence, a parked trailer, and then overturned before striking a utility pole.      Shoras died at the scene.  He was 51 years old.

MORNING STAR, Ark., -- A teenager from Saint Joe is dead after a crash near Morning Star, Arkansas.     State police say the 16-year-old was riding in a truck on Highway 27 when the driver lost control on a hill, rolled over and hit several trees. The victim's name has not been released. The 17-year-old driver suffered minor injuries.

The Arkansas State Police says a motorcyclist died Sunday when he couldn't manage a curve on Highway 5. Troopers say 55-year-old James Beckham, III, was killed when his Harley left the road just south of Mountain View around 7:30 Sunday morning. The police say no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Bergman, AR - A woman from Harrison died in a chain reaction crash in northern Arkansas.  State police say a car driven by 80 year old Lois Cecil was rear-ended, pushing it head-on into the path of an SUV.  Cecil died at the scene of the crash near Bergman.  Five others were injured.  The driver of the truck that hit her could face charges.

A man from West Plains is dead after a crash in Arkansas. State police say 26-year-old Christopher Lancaster died when he was thrown from his car near Paragould early Sunday morning, when his car flipped on Highway 125. His passenger suffered serious injuries.

FLIPPIN, Ark. -- City police arrested the high school band director on Monday on a charge of sexual assault.  Joe Morris, 56, of Lakeview is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl -- one of his students at Flippin High School. Flippin Police Chief Randy Light says the charge against Joe Morris resulted from an investigation of a few days by his department and Arkansas State Police.  A judge set Morris' bond at $10,000. ---- More information from KTLO radio
