SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- An accident at the Paul Mueller Company factory near downtown Springfield killed a newly hired worker on Thursday morning.  A news release from the company said William "Cole" Hambelton died just before 9 a.m. Springfield Police officers, paramedics, and the fire department were called to the loading dock area after a semi truck was backing up to hook onto a trailer and the driver didn't see Hambelton.  "Our thoughts and...

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Mo. -- Funeral services held Friday afternoon for a man from Birch Tree killed in a logging accident. John Glasscock was cutting trees in Texas County on Tuesday when one fell on him.  Glasscock was 23.  The service will start at one o'clock at the Yarber Mortuary in Mountain View.

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. - Video of a boating accident that happened at Lake of the Ozarks is making the rounds across the Internet this morning. In the video, captured by Lake TV, seven people were aboard a boat when it hit a large wake from a nearby boat of the Ozarks on Friday. Everyone on the boat was knocked off their feet, being thrown back and forth on the boat. Five people suffered what were described as minor to moderate injuries. Those five were taken to Lake Regional Hospital where they were treated.

WALNUT GROVE, Mo. -- A deadly accident occurs in northern Greene County at about 6am Saturday morning.  Authorities rushed to a vehicle that had crashed and flipped at Highway U and Highway V.  That's just west of Walnut Grove. The driver of that vehicle has died, authorities are trying to contact family members.

BERGMAN, Ark. -- One person was killed in a car crash in Boone County Arkansas this morning. State police say that accident happened on highway 7 between Zinc and Bergman. The victim's name and what happened have not been released.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A driver who hit a teenager sitting in the middle of a road in Springfield says she looked at her cell phone just before the collision.  The June 2nd accident happened around 1am on Walnut Lawn near Campbell.  An accident report says Justin Clark, 17, was sitting in one of the East bound lanes on Walnut Lawn. The driver told the police she didn't see the teenager until it was too late to stop.  Clark died of his injuries.

A close call Sunday at an airport in Taney County.      Officials with Western Taney County Fire say the aircraft apparently over-shot the runway at the airport in Point Lookout. The plane was being used by a pilot class.  Both the teacher and student, the only two on board, were able to walk away from the accident. The plane sustained minor damage.

THAYER, Mo. -- A Mammoth Spring, Ark., School District bus was bumped from behind by another vehicle this morning. The accident happened on Highway 142 east of Thayer. There were two children and two adults on board the bus at the time. No one was injured. The bus was stopped due to a previous accident. The car behind it was unable to stop in time. The bus was driven back to campus after the accident.

BRANSON, Mo. -- City police and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the death of a construction worker.  The police chief says Ray Strawn, 41, fell about 25 feet from a crane on Sunday morning.  The accident happened at a construction site at Palace View Resort at 700 Blue Meadows Road. Strawn was inside a wooden box being lifted off the ground by a boom lift.  When the box was about 25 feet in the air, it became unstable and fell from the lift with Strawn inside.  Strawn died at the scene.  Branson firefighters, Taney County Ambulance and county coroner's office responded to the accident.

PLEASANT HOPE, Mo. -- A pickup collided with a Pleasant Hope School District bus on a curve shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday on Highway H about a mile south of Pleasant Hope, killing the driver of the pickup. She was Tracy Bauer, 45, of Pleasant Hope. No children were on the bus at the time. The driver of the school bus, Wilfred Hardiman, 61, was taken to a hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries.  Hardiman had made his last stop to drop off students before the accident happened.

REPUBLIC -- A man is lucky to be alive after his car flipped several times overnight on Sunday. The accident happened near the James River and Sunshine exit on Highway 60. Authorities said the car flipped three or four times before coming to a stop near the westbound lane.      The driver, a 20-year-old man, was thrown from the vehicle; he was taken to the hospital-- no word on his condition. Republic police said alcohol may have been a factor in the accident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

SPRINGFIELD -- One person was taken to a Springfield hospital on Saturday night after accidentally shooting himself in the side. The victim's injuries are not life threatening, according to police. The incident happened around 9 p.m. at 210 east Montclair at the Old Monterey Apartments. No word yet on what led to the accident.

MARSHFIELD, Mo.--  It's a safety issue for slow moving vehicles, especially those with real live horse power.  An Amish farmer is concerned about his family and others traveling by buggy on a rural highway. The Amish have always had a slower way of life, and travel.  "We feel that if we don't get in with the society that's so fast living, we'll have a better chance of maybe getting where we want to go," says Emanuel Y. Schwartz. But if he can help it, Emanuel doesn't want want to go heaven by Highway 38.  "They've come up on us around the curve and they're up on us.  You can hear the tires squeal sometimes," says Emanuel.

SPRINGFIELD -- One car is in the repair shop at Don Wessel Honda in Springfield and a couple more are right behind it. All of the vehicles were mangled after wrecks involving deer.  "The month of October and November are prone for it," explained Dusty Richardson, the body shop foreman at Don Wessel Honda. Both Arkansas and Missouri are high risk states when it comes to the likelihood of a collision with a deer, according to State Farm.  The Natural State is ranked 9th in the nation and the Show-Me State 15th.

SPRINGFIELD -- Five months after a fatal crash killed two people on a motorcycle in Springfield, the victims' surviving family members have filed suit against the other people involved. The accident was on May 19 when a van and an SUV collided in the northbound lanes of West Bypass, causing the SUV to cross the median and hit a motorcycle. The husband and wife, Gary and Denice Zenger, on the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene. Their family members are suing for damages against the drivers of the SUV and the van. So far, no criminal charges have been filed in the accident.

NEVADA,Mo. -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a semi truck crashed into the Quick Dine restaurant around 5 p.m. Friday, killing Joseph Cole, 54, of Nevada. John Becker of Nevada and Roger Berning of El Dorado Springs suffered serious injuries.  Pamela Hoover of Nevada was also injured. Troopers say a car driven by Patrick Crews pulled onto the highway in front of the big rig driven by Daniel Coffman, who swerved and plowed into the restaurant.  Neither driver was hurt.  Both men are from Nevada.

MARSHFIELD, Mo. -- Firefighters risk their lives in the line of duty every day, but some Ozarks firefighters were honored on Tuesday evening for the service and sacrifice.  Marshfield Volunteer Deputy Fire Chief Edward Noland received a First Responder Award from the Military Order of the Purple Heart as well as Medal of Honor from the Marshfield Fire Protection District. Fighting fires was always Edward Noland's dream.  "Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to be a fireman, but it was more important to make money," Noland said.

LEBANON, Mo. -- City police are investigating an apparent accidental shooting that killed a cadet.  The Lebanon Daily Record reports Russell Bragg, 24, died on Wednesday morning after being shot in the leg. Police said Bragg's friend and fellow cadet was taking apart a gun on the balcony of Bragg's apartment Tuesday night when he bent down to pick up something and a bullet fired.  The round traveled through the victim's leg, then into his stomach...
