SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- One man died after a stabbing in central Springfield on Wednesday night. The victim was Curtis Storey, 29.
Police say it happened around 9 p.m. at 603 S. New Ave. Officers arrived at the house and found the victim in the backyard with a stab wound to the chest. Police say it appears the stabbing was the result of an argument between the victim and his 31-year-old brother.
An ambulance took Storey to a hospital but doctors could not save him. Investigators interviewed his brother and others in the home to try to find out what took place.
"Several subjects inside the house indicated that there was an argument that took place at the house," Springfield Police Lt. Scott Umbarger said.
Police say an autopsy will be conducted this week.
