Pleasant Hope -- He is a legend around Pleasant Hope.  Carl Fisher, the world record holder for driving a school bus for the longest time, officially retired on Saturday.

Fisher drove kids to and from school for 66 years.

The Pleasant Hope School District held a party for Fisher. There was food, a silent auction, and live music from several Branson entertainers to include the Texas Tenors.

Fisher happens to be the father of a member of the trio.

Fisher, who is 82, said while he was excited about the celebration, he will miss the kids.

"I'd say the last couple of years I didn't drive to see how much money I could make, I felt like I drove to try and be a help to those kids." said Fisher.

Students who use to ride Fisher's bus returned for the retirement party to help him celebrate.

Fisher said he only missed two days in his career.
