Willard, MO - A sinkhole ripped apart a road near Springfield-Branson National Airport. The tear was found at the end of Farm Road 105 Monday afternoon. It was about 10 feet across, then quickly grew to about 15 feet wide. Road crews first thought the hole was about five feet deep, but after bringing in backhoes, they're not sure yet where the bottom is. The Greene County Highway Department will resume digging Tuesday to find the bottom. A water main snapped when the concrete collapsed, but water service was later restored. Crews say this past weekend's rains may have caused the hole to form.
