Good morning...a few storms have been firing overnight north of a weak front draped through the Ozarks. These stretch back into Kansas as well and we'll have to monitor this through the day.  It throws a monkey wrench into the high temps today and I suspect there will be a range of numbers over the region either side of 100.  The front we have now will lift north tonight as low pressure strengthens in the plains.  The result will be an increasing breeze and very warm temperatures overnight.  Saturday has the potential to be an incredibly hot day.  Joplin hit 107 on Thursday, and that could be a rough guess for much of the region depending on clouds.  The wind will be gusty and the fire danger will be very high on Saturday.  A few storms will be possible again particularly in the late afternoon into Saturday night as a cold front drops through.  The front will have cleared the region early Sunday with temperatures in the lower 90s expected.  Lows will drop into the 60s for a few nights next week with a warming trend through mid week.
