STRONG STORMS THIS EVENING
Strong and severe storms developed late in the afternoon today in parts of southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. A weak disturbance is moving over the area so showers and storms will continue to be possible this evening and tonight. A few storms could be strong with a chance for gusty winds and small hail.

STAYING HOT...
It was another hot day for this first day of August. The high heat is expected to remain through at least the first week of the new month. Temperatures tomorrow should make it back into the low 100s with partly cloudy skies. A few storms are possible but the best chance looks to be in central Missouri. Highs will be around 100 degrees into the start of the weekend.

NEXT COLD FRONT ARRIVES
A cold front is then expected to arrive by early Sunday. Temperatures are going to be a bit cooler but still above average with highs in the mid 90s Sunday and Monday. In addition, there is a chance for storms near the front late Saturday and early Sunday.
