Hottest Weather So Far?

Dangerously high heat will continue for the Ozarks the next couple of days.  Temperatures will soar to near record highs over much of southwest Missouri and north Arkansas.  A heat advisory remains in effect through Monday for all of our Missouri counties.  The only good news is that a few isolated afternoon storms are possible.

Relief for Some

The very hot weather will make the atmosphere rather unstable during the afternoon.  A few isolated thunderstorms are possible each day but will be very limited in coverage.  Any rain that does fall will bring only temporary relief from the heat as higher humidity will offset any cooling affects. The hot weather will subside some by the end of the week.

High Fire Danger

The fire danger will remain very high and all burning is highly discouraged.  A southwest breeze will pick up this afternoon which could help quickly spread any flames.  Please be very careful with any open flame including smoking materials.
