SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Greene County Medical Examiner on Tuesday could identify the human remains found in a garbage can at a home on West Edgewood Street in Springfield. Detectives say the victim could be a woman.
The home was being rented by a man who was shot and killed on June 30 by a Marionville police officer. Police say Adam Bergseth, 37, was shot after threatening the officer with scissors. Police had responded to the apartment in Marionville after receiving a report of a woman being held against her will.
The cause what killed a man in the city's latest homicide might be released. Police found the body of Robert Pugh, 44, Sunday night inside his home on West Latoka Street, near Scenic Avenuie at Sunshine Street. Police aren't saying how Pugh died, but did say the fatal wound was not "self-inflicted."
