SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- After drawing 10,000 people in its first year, Fireworks at the Field returns to downtown Springfield on July 4 with even more activities!

“We’ve made some changes to the event to make this year’s Fireworks at the Field even better than the first,” said Rusty Worley, executive director of the Urban Districts Alliance.

This year, people can watch the Springfield Cardinals face the Midland Rockhounds at 5 at Hammons Field.  Each Fireworks at the Field ticket includes a general admission to the game in the outfield grass berms.

In addition to a baseball game, attendees will be able to engage in fun, family-friendly activities in three air-conditioned venues: The Discovery Center, Mediacom Ice Park and the Creamery Arts Center.  Amberg Events will debut three brand-new inflatables inside Mediacom Ice Park

  • the “Extreme Cannonball Blaster” that allows four participants to fire foam balls at each other inside the enclosed air dome;
  • the huge “End Zone Obstacle Course” that will have players scrambling through many pop-ups, log jams and tires before plunging down the inflatable slide, and
  • a special “Toddler Zone” inflatable for young kids only.

This year, patrons will also be able to ride a City Utilities shuttle between venues.

“We know with the heat it will be important for people to stay cool, so we’ve partnered with City Utilities to provide transportation,” said Worley.

Shuttles will begin running at 3 and carry patrons to participating event venues.
