Arkansas Razorbacks: Hogs advance to College World Series with 10-inning win over Baylor

WACO, Texas - The Hogs had a flair for the dramatic in the NCAA Super Regional.

Five Arkansas Razorbacks (44-20) pitchers combined to throw ten shutout innings against the Baylor Bears (49-17) in a 1-0 win Monday night in the Waco Super Regional.  The win earned Arkansas its 7th trip to the College World Series in Omaha in school history  It's in the third trip in the past nine seasons.

Arkansas scored the lone run of the game in the top of the tenth inning.  Freshman Brian Anderson singled to left field.  A sacrifice advanced him to second.  Anderson then scored on a two-out single by Jake Wise.

Baylor had its opportunities.  It loaded the bases in both the fourth and fifth innings, but failed to get a run across the plate.  The Bears had another scoring opportunity in the bottom of the tenth, with runners at first and second.  Sophomore reliever Colby Suggs struck out Dan Evatt swinging to end the game.  Suggs improved to 7-0 on the season, with all of his wins in relief opportunities.

Arkansas will play the Kent State Golden Flashes Saturday afternon at 4:00 p.m.  The two schools are paired in the same bracket with Southeastern Conference schools, No. 1 national seed Florida and No. 8 national seed South Carolina.
