Baseball player jumps over fence backward, makes game-winning catch

LONGVIEW, Wash. - A Washington community college baseball player's game-winning catch is turning heads after being featured on ESPN and several sports blogs.

According to The Daily News of Longview, Wash., Lower Columbia College led Everett Community College 4-2 in the final inning of a playoff baseball game when outfielder Derrick Salberg robbed an Everett player of a home run by leaping over the bullpen fence backward and catching the ball as he was falling.

The play was featured in ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 as the top play of the evening. Several sports blogs such as The Big Lead and Deadspin caught wind of the play and featured it on their sites as well.
