CROCKER, Mo. - An Ozarks fire department is the victim of vandalism, twice in a two week span.

The Crocker Fire Protection District's Hawkeye satellite station was first hit on May 5th, but only an access door was damaged. It was hit again this past Wednesday, the 16th.

Not only was the new access door damaged, but a skid unit that is used to hold 300 gallons of water was destroyed.

Luckily, the engine wasn't at the station at the time.

According to the volunteer department, the insurance company will not cover the loss, about 20-thousand dollars, and it can't afford a replacement.

That, they say could affect nearby residents.

"The next station is about seven miles away, so it cuts down our response time and it's not just our fire department that's hurting from this, it's our entire community," said senior firefighter with the Crocker Fire Protection District, Joe Wilkes.

If you can help police solve this crime, you're asked to call the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department at (573) 774-6196 or the Crocker Fire Protection District, either by phone or on its facebook page, www.facebook.com/crockerfireprotection.
