JOPLIN, Mo. - With the one year anniversary of the Joplin tornado approaching, on the 22nd of this month, a group is gathering to bring a different kind of hope.

A group of 50 musicians., 150 singers and 2 narrators from all over the country are putting on a free concert at Joplin's Memorial Hall Saturday night. They will tell the story of the devastation and recovery that the citizens had to endure.

Dr. Hubert Bird, a former professor of music in New Hampshire, now lives in Baxter Springs, Kansas and was inspired to create a 45 minute, 3 movement piece that takes the listener on a journey from just before the storm to the future that is full of hope.

Dr. Bird and the all-volunteer ensemble feel that it's a way to bring something back to the community.

The concert will take place on Saturday night, the 12th, at Memorial Hall in downtown Joplin at 7:30.
