GALENA, Mo. -- Eugene Crider is the third person charged for the murder of a man from Highlandville in February. Crider previously was charged with concealing evidence about the death of Carl Anderson, but Stone County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Selby filed a first-degree murder charge on Monday.
Stone County Sheriff Richard Hill says Crider lived at a home on Akita Run near Highlandville with Teri Dean and Cheryl Crawford. Investigators found blood at that home that they determined belonged to Anderson. Detectives said that home was cleaned up and some of its contents were burned to try to conceal Anderson’s death.
Anderson's remains were found in March at a rural property near Reeds Spring. He disappeared in February. Dean (also known as Teri Dean-Morrison) and Crawford were previously charged with first-degree murder after being first charged along with Crider with tampering with evidence. Hill says additional evidence surfaced that led Selby to also charge Crider with first-degree murder. The tampering charges against Dean and Crawford were dropped after they were charged with murder.
