SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A charity basketball tournament will be held in May to help a local family dealing with their daughter's murder. 12-year-old Sierra Elliott died in March after she was shot in the head at her home in Fair Play.
The 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be hosted at Fair Play High School on Saturday, May 5, 2012. The competition is broken up into three divisions for ages 12 and up. Money raised will the help the family cover medical costs and funeral expenses.

Elliott's 15-year-old half brother is in juvenile custody and is considered a person of interest in her death.
