NEAR BRANSON, Mo.-- Damage from high lake levels in 2011 will force the Army Corps of Engineers to close a campground on Table Rock Lake for the entire 2012 season. Old Highway 86 Park is located 5 miles south of Branson, and features 71 campsites on an area of land that has the lake on three sides.
The Army Corps of Engineers says ongoing construction to repair the damage from last year's flooding forced it to close the park. The Corps says heavy trucks and equipment will be in and out of the park throughout the summer and the public is not allowed to enter the park until the project is complete.
The Corp maintains multiple campgrounds in the area, with information about each on its website. The public may also call the Table Rock Project office at 417-334-4101 or check out the Army Corps of Engineers facebook page.
