Woman is in custody after robberies at 2 businesses in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- City police arrested a woman who they think robbed two businesses and may have been planning to rob a third, all within a short time on Monday morning.  The first robbery was at Deals, 1844 S. Campbell Ave.  The second robbery was at Thai Peppers, a1411 E. Sunshine St.

A police officer spotted the car that the robber drove away from both businesses and followed the driver to Little Caesar’s Pizza, 1540 S. Glenstone Ave.  Other officers arrived and arrested the woman, who was described by robbery victims as white, with long gray hair, and possibly in her 50s.

The victims said the woman brandished a knife during the robberies.  Police said the license on the woman’s older green Jeep Cherokee is registered to a woman from the Rogersville area.
