Mitt Romney establishes dominance at MO GOP Caucuses

SW Missouri GOP chooses Santorum/Romney at District Caucus

April 21, 2012|by Jerry Jacob | newsalerts@ky3.com

PIERCE CITY, Mo. --  Mitt Romney has taken command of the Missouri Caucus winning half of the delegates decided today at the state's district caucuses.  The breakdown of bound delegates is:

Mitt Romney: 12  Rick Santorum:  7  Ron Paul:   4  Newt Gingrich:  1

Each of Missouri's 8 congressional districts chose 3 delegates.  District 7, covering Southwest Missouri, chose 2 delegates for Rick Santorum, and 1 for Mitt Romney.

The results are unofficial until the State GOP receives signed documentation from each convention—a process which may take several days to complete.

25 additional delegates will be bound at the state convention in Springfield in June.  The state chairman, national committeeman, and national committeewoman will also serve as delegates.  In total, Missouri has 52 national delegates.
