Missouri's Senators have high profile weekend

April 20, 2012|by Jerry Jacob

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Missouri Senator Roy Blunt delivered this week's Republican address to the nation.  In the address which ran nationwide Saturday morning, Blunt declared jobs as the number one domestic priority of the federal government and that the shortest path to more American jobs is more American energy.  You can read and watch Blunt's address in its entirety HERE.

Also Saturday, fellow Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill was in Springfield meeting with Greene County Democrats at the party's annual Jackson Days event.  McCaskill was the keynote speaker at a banquet which was preceded by a meeting with military memebers and veterans.

"It reflects the moral character of our nation to keep our word to the veterans," said McCaskill.  "We can't try to do veteran benefits on the cheap.  So I always try to visit with veterans so I can hear first hand what their frustrations are so then I can go to work trying to fix it."
