SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- If you're trying to protect yourself from identity theft, the Better Business Bureau will help.  It'll shred personal documents for free on Saturday.

Each year the BBB offers residents a chance to destroy sensitive documents in October and April.  This Saturday, it's offering the same opportunity at Great Southern Bank's operations center on South Glenstone Avenue just south of St. Louis Street.

It runs from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., and you're able to bring up to five boxes worth. Protecting your identity not only means properly getting rid of your documents but also taking the neccessary precautions.

The BBB suggests shredding any document that contains financial information, such as account numbers, PINs, birth dates and Social Security numbers.
