Several areas are without electricity this morning, as reported by utility companies.
Five hundred to 1,000 Empire customers were without power in Christian County this morning, including areas of Nixa and Ozark, according to the utility's online outage map. Power has since been restored to that area, according to an Empire spokesperson.
The Nixa/Ozark outage was caused by a lightning strike, according to Empire.
Empire District is also reporting small outages affecting between 10 and 100 customers around Christian and Stone counties, including areas near Clever and Galena, extending north into the Mount Vernon area. Another similar outage occurred between Buffalo and Hermitage; power in that affected area is back on as well.
There is no indication yet as to how long each reported power outage has lasted.
We will post any additional outages we hear of throughout the morning.
