SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- A 33-year-old man who is charged with robbing two stores in Springfield is also a suspect in a bank robbery on Monday.  Police say Dale Barkfelt is charged with the robbery on March 30 of the Family Dollar Store at 1825 W. Grand St., as well as the robbery on April 5 of the Dollar General Store at 1726 S. Kansas Expressway.

The FBI is also questioning Barkfelt about the robbery on Monday of the Great Southern Bank on Sunshine Street near Kansas.   The suspect in that case showed a gun and got away on foot with some cash.

Officers say Barkfelt is a transient who lives in the area of the robbery locations.  Police followed up on leads after the bank robbery, and were able to track Barkfelt to the bridge south of Walnut Street on Kansas Expressway where police say he was hiding.

Barkfelt was in the Greene County jail on Thursday in lieu of a $250,000 bond.  He was booked there on Tuesday after the robbery on Monday.
